Putting it together

Yesterday I had the aha moment, linking the "now" with reality. One thing I've learned from reading different types of self help books, is to take what relates to you, have an open mind when reading and also remembering that an author is writing from their own experiences and research and does not necessarily be what you need.

What I learned this week is this :

*Live life in the present moment, allowing yourself to take in the beauty of the day and also having the awareness to be and act who you are and want to be. This can only be done by living in the NOW. Living day by day not looking to far in the future as worry will stump your growth. Set your goals and move towards them one day at a time.

*Leave those limiting thoughts aside. Self criticism is the most paralyzing factor we could ever do to ourselves. Love yourself with your flaws and all, no one is perfect. We can always learn and move forward from our mistakes.

*Be grateful for all that you have, from the smallest miracle to the biggest. Being grateful allows happiness and love to flow through your body.

* No need to be materialistic, but do enjoy those great pleasures we are blessed with. The truth is, we do live in a materialistic world and it is not wrong (as some books state) to have nice things. All we need to remember is to make sure that we do not make these materialistic things make who we are. Who we are is based on your inner self, how you treat people, how you love life and how you are making a difference in your world. If you can separate yourself from the materialistic things then you can just enjoy and be grateful for these pleasures.

So far this is what I have learned thus far, I will continue to post more aha moments as they come along. ;) Time to enjoy the weekend living and loving.

The Diva in you- and the Now

So I'm currently facing a dilemma. Many of the current books I am reading about the "Now" way of living is not fitting in well with the way life is being lived by every single person and thing around us. Here's the problem. Living in the now, nice and calm etc is all good until you are slapped in the face with other peoples opinions and way of life. No one else understands the concept of the NOW and they are not living by it. In a way make me feel sort of like an outcast and not being able to relate to many people anymore...So how do we combine the NOW with realistic life situations. Because no matter how hard you try the EGO is EGO and with everyone elses ego circulating we really have no way out and our EGO is demanding attention too! (unless your on a private island, this is the only way I see it really working).... Ok, so Ive been taking a grain of truth from some situations and decided to change my ways. Going back to 2 years ago before the "NOW" to a book I read in front of the Punta Cana beach, called "I AM DIVA!"
This book talks about feeling good about YOU inside and out but showing it through Passion and Charm... The book has many related topics to the NOW but realistic to what we are facing everyday to things that matter. Feeling good about the way we look and dress and if that means wearing makeup or getting your hair done to feel good, then thats what we need to do!.... Even if it is feeding EGO! EGO is a part of life, a part of us... letting it go is like dying inside and pretty much BORING toooo.

I think I've ranted enough :) but I will write out some parts of the book I enjoyed;

"The trapped feeling comes from living a life governed by expectations"

"All the joy comes from living Diva!"

"style is a mode of expression, it doesn't come from reading fashion magazines or buying trendy items , it comes from knowing who we are, being proud of it and expressing in uniquely"

Green Tea!

Jasmine Green tea is one of my favorites, a calming aroma and amazing green tea benefits.

Some sources I searched up online states the following benefits of green tea... So get drinking!

Green tea has antioxidant benefits which help regulate cholesterol and assist in weight loss. It also inhibits the cancer process at virtually every stage and much more benefits such as helping us live longer and healthier lives

But how much Green tea do we need to get these added benefits?...
http://www.greentea.com/ntabout.aspx Says about 3-10 cups... realistically we can find time for 3, maybe 5 in our busy days. The article also states to be careful of bottled green tea beverages, they do not have the same benefits as brewing a fresh cup of green tea leaves.

There is a lot of info online on green tea, take the time to research a bit and lets cleanse our bodies and look forwards to healthy long lives with green tea!

Giving Back

The Holidays are here and only 1 month left to shop for Christmas gifts!! I have my list for gifts to my family and friends all I need to do is get out there and shop!

But every year this time around my not be as exciting for some. Those families that cant afford much and the children that may miss out on getting those special gifts from Santa. Every year I like to take part in giving back to those in need. Even the smallest good deed will make a difference. This year my church is asking for volunteers to make food gift baskets to give to families in need in our community. My sister and I will be taking part. We are really excited. We will also donate gifts to the Chum city foundation. These are some ways we will be giving back this year.

I know life can be busy and there may be lots on your plate, but like I said even the smallest donation can help.

Here are some ways you can help;

1. Give your pocket change to those collecting money in front of your grocery store
2. Buy some extra canned food and drop it off at the front of the grocery store on your way out, most grocery stores have a huge box ready to accept donations.
3. Buy some of your gifts from corporations that donate the proceeds to the needy.
4. Pay attention to events hosted in your community to support the ones in need.
5. Clean out your closets, Donate Winter attire for the homeless

These are just some easy ways to give back this season, any one of us can do this with little effort. Imagine what we can do WITH some Extra Effort! We all need to reach out and help someone in need especially during the holidays ;)

The Now

Many Self help Spiritual books talk about the NOW. Putting focus on what people today are forgetting to do. Most of us live very busy lives never stopping to take it all in. Eckart Tolle has more of a inner spiritual way of seeing the now. Letting go of Ego, becoming one with nature, and the NOW would be fully experiencing every thing in the moment without letting thoughts or emotion in. So how do we really apply it to REAL life? My husband who has also read Echkart Tolle's book the New earth has different way of putting it. Being in the now is not only about letting go of all we were taught and going just for a peaceful quiet experience (what fun is that!), but instead living in the now with all that is our life and all that of which excites us (yes EGO TOO!) We are all different so we need to apply what the NOW means to us....Here is my husbands meaning of the NOW:

What is the now, what does it mean to live in the now?

I understand it as this..

1. The now is the clothes we wear (Are you really paying attention and
dressing to your best?) Going out and presenting yourself the way you want to be presented

2. The now is where we live (Is it really up the standards you can have
right now?)

3. The now is in what you do with your extra time? (Are you really
spending your hours constructively?)

4. The now is in the shape of your body? (Are you really happy with your
health and physic?)

Think about what's important to you right now and
ask yourself. Am I matching up to my expectations in that area with
what I am capable of doing at the present moment? If the answer is no I
can do better, then that means your not living in the now.

Right or Kind

I listened to a Wayne Dyer speech last night on Youtube and he was saying "instead of choosing right, choose kind".... whats funny is that this really resonates with me. I know this to be true, i feel this in my soul when i hear it. But why is it sooo hard to act upon. Why do we hesitate to be kind? Why do we all feel that showing our kindness will mean showing our weakness. (altho to some it proves as true)If we forget about all the wrong people have done to us and just act kind ust as we have been taught to act as God would i think this will help us move toward that inner peace we are all searching for. Now, to do it.

Also I came to a conclusion as well about the type of books I like to read. Usually whatever book that is advertised on Oprah's soul series are usually the ones I go for, however not all books keep me interested to read up until the end. Some do, the ones about the soul, about inner peace, about finding who you are, and especially the ones that have amazing quotes and life lessons these are the ones I love and enjoy. Some of my favorite authors are Wayne Dyer, Iyanha Vanzant, Eckhart Tolle, Caroline Sutherland... and of course for motivation Anthony Robins. Can't wait to hit the book store soon!

Dealing with Difficult people

Why do some people feel the need to put others down? Have you ever had an argument with someone, and instead of getting to the point of the problem they immediately point out what you did wrong or point out your flaws and put you down. I came across a website today
http://www.life-with-confidence.com/people-who-put-you-down.html

And the first thing it says;
"The first thing to know is that a happy, self confident, person does not put others down .
Some people are very negative about others because:
- they need to make themselves feel like they're in control or more powerful or to cover up their own insecurities - they’ve experienced a trauma of their own in the past and they don’t know how to deal with the pain so they'll hurt others as a defense mechanism"

So take a look at the person who is treating you this way and you will probably see that they have many issues of their own! So how do we deal with them?

We all no that its really hard to just let it go, we all want our say tooo. But the article says to not let them get what they want, which is a rageful reaction LOL Ive had my shares. Instead tell them you will not accept what they just told you, or tell them how you feel and to keep the argument strictly about the situation....

If your like me, this is hard especially if someone comes at you hard with the put downs how can I not react!... This will be something I will be working on for myself, because none of us deserve to let others control us with their words ;)

What is this here to teach us?

OPRAH HAS FREE ITUNES DOWNLOAD!!! I love to read or listen to audio books and radio shows. Since I don't have access to my XM Radio, I've been missing the Oprah soul channel. BUT Oprah has all the soul series audio on itunes where we can download them for free, an exciting thing for me.

Listening to the different people speaking on the show really activates my mind thats what I love about it. One thing i heard today was "What is this here to teach us" Try using this question with all good and bad situations, to really learn lessons in our lives. Learning from these lessons help us grow. When I ask myself this question today, my answer is ... I've been given the chance to learn more about me, more time to really look inside and pay attention to what I want in life. Although I am also working on my business, I do feel I am contecting to other aspects of the universe within myself. Tho still learning how to be me at 27 ;) I take these life lessons and try to build on them and hopefully the answer will one day be more direct.

Oh just to add for those that LOVE TO READ, Theres the new Amazon KINDLE, it looks amazing, I hope to get this soon so my bed mantle can be free from all the books on it! ;)

Focus!

As we continue our steps and strategies to grow our business the one thing i learned so far is to stay "focused". Not one day goes by where we are not thinking or working on the business. Next week we are implementing some new marketing strategies we have never tried before. Extremly excited, I do have a good feeling about the new focus! $$$$

As we all are feeling the economic slump even here in Toronto, Canada we decided to take the house off the market. For now. Our focus is still on our business and still on our travels but we will wait until the spring in hopes the market is much better. However, I do love my house, which I'm sure I mentioned before! So I am thinking "Can we have it all?" What do you think? for years now "The Secret" And "Law of Attraction" and Mr God of course had led me to believe anything is possible, I am sure that WE can have it all! Tonight I will make my wish board, which is all the things I want, by doing this and keeping it at eye level will remind me always of what I want, therefore staying Focused!

BURRRRRR

Burrr a cold and cloudy Monday morning! Although other than today's gloomy day we have been having a beautiful sunny gorgeous autumn so far! Since I have been working from home I am noticing the "little" things like the beautiful fall colors, the people taking daily walks or jogs in the park. Sometimes in our busy go go lives, its nice to stop and really focus on the present. As Elkart Tolle (A new Earth) states "livng in the now" stopping to smell the roses. These are the things in life that we need to stop and feel, this is real life.

Seeing things differently

I've been communicating with a distant cousin through email over a couple of weeks. He was one of the very few people that went and followed his dream. He said something today that touched my heart, the way he expressed his words has total truth in it, yet I never saw it this way before.

"I think some people are fragile. I think what makes them fragile makes them powerful and beautiful and wonderful. It also makes them vulnerable.
Fragile people see things that other people just don't see, they
understand things that other people can't understand. It means that
they can often feel alone in the way they see the world.
It is the fragile people who make the world move forward."

I know, did that not give you goose bumps.

Seeing things in a different light sometimes allows us to see the true meaning behind everything...

First Day

Today was the first day I made a sales call for our company..EEE even had the Cat meowing in the background! We need to start somewhere i guess. We will grow as we learn what works and doesn't work. We have had our company for about 7 years now WOW, and just this year we started seeing is grow quickly! Now that I'm home, I'll see if telephone sales will help.

I'm reading this book at the moment called "The Science of getting rich" So far, this book states that by following exactly what it says you'll get rich, basically using the law of attraction "THE SECRET".... I will definitely keep you updated on this. I am a strong believer that we have control over what happens. And as i mentioned before with my lay off.

Quote from book
"there is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the inter spaces of the universe"
"a thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by thought"
"a person can form things in his thought, and by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created"

I love it!

Just to start...

Monday morning and no working for the man! I should feel liberated and happy now I have all this time to myself and to our online business... but I kinda feel scared and unsure. I think I am still adjusting. From a book I just finished "the millionaire moron" says this has to do with social conditioning, and I know it does!... So today I started with my run on the track listening to Tony Robins on what fulfills us. He states 6 human needs, I just got through the first 3, but they are;
1. The need for certainty (comfort/peace)
2. the need for uncertainty (variety/surprise)
3. the need for significance (need to be needed)

What caught my attention the most was that for #1, if you are tooo certain it will = boredom and # 2 if you are too uncertain you may act out in negative ways.... so there needs to be a balance. This makes sense, I think right now i may be feeling the feeling of uncertainty due to losing my job, but by this i need to make goals to give myself 'variety' to feel 'certain' I'm on a path and have #3 significance.

Now What?

I was laid off Wednesday, today is Friday. A beautiful fall day fresh and sunny. I started listening to Anthony Robins personal power cd's to get me motivated, tho still in shock with mixed emotions about the lay off. I am pumped and ready for this change! (ok and scared, but that's what Tony is here for) This is right where i am suppose to be! I am also reading a new book I came across to get me OUT of this social conditioning of a JOB. The book is called "The Millionaire Moron". So far so good....

I didnt know what to feel, I was happy and all I thought was , WOW this is the secret coming into play. We wanted the chance to give more time to our online business and now we get that chance.

Through the week

Only Tuesday, and I feel that there is soo much to do. The house is for sale and we are anxious to sell. We are still indecisive about the move to San Diego. The adventure would be amazing and i know if we wanted this its the best time to do it. So far the plan is Sell and keep costs low whether that's buying a house or condo we still do not know...

Whats the plan...

Ok, so I decided from this day on I will log my husband and I's life plan. We are a couple that never stops wishing/hoping/dreaming/wanting more.. you name it!.... We started thinking about a major move to San Diego. A place where we feel we can really connect our inner selves and our online business. Friday night we went to a dance that my uncle and aunt hosted. We admire my Uncle for all his successes and for the humble man he is (my dads brother) He told us that San Diego is one of his favorite places and he himself would love to live there. He said he has many friends there and loves visiting San Diego. "If you go to San diego, you are not coming back!" We only have been there once but absolutely loved it. The weather, the people the calmness! (for me) we just fell in love with that city! We usually don't have many adults around us that give us any advice, so speaking to my uncle and finding out he to loves Sandiego too was amazing to us...
