Not ready for level 2

Enjoying a hot cup of tea and feeling the pain...OUCH! Last night I did Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred DVD. As the day progressed my body got more sore and more sore. I can't lift my arms and my legs...ouch! It's a good burn, but I think I will go back to Level 1 for a couple more weeks ahahah.

This week I did well in keeping my calories between 1300-1600. However today I'm not sure what my calories were, it was a Friday eat out day we had Sushi for lunch and Chinese for dinner. Hopefully I can keep it together this weekend.

Hope you all have a great weekend. We have a cold alert in Toronto, tonight it's -13°C , -21°C with windchill BURRR so I will be keeping warm!!

What a Day!

First stop this morning was at my Doctor's Office,. I have a very old doctor, she delivered me and my 33 year old brother and has been our doctor our whole life. She is witty and wise and very very honest.

"There's fat on your belly, you shouldn't eat to much, eat a little and eat no carbs and eat more fish" >> That is what she told me in my check up. I told her not to worry I'm working on it :) I did not tell her that I'm struggling with a sugar addictions and carbs make me happy ahhah! She also told me to add in more back exercises to strengthen my back. So I will do that :) I do have a lot of back pain on my lower left side so she is sending me for a ultra sound next week to make sure we are all good in there. Minus the scary google searches I have read about why my back hurts, I think it's all good and trust that I just need to strengthen it.

Good thing Doctor does not read my blog...

Then I had to go downtown to fight that speeding ticket I got in June. It was nothing too major it was 16 over and I was going to plea NOT GUILTY, but then the officer was there and I was wayyy too nervous so I went with what they suggested and I did plea guilty with a lesser fine. NEVER will I speed again!! Lesson LEARNED!

Weekly goals and a new mat :)


Yesterday I bought a new mat, a thicker one. So I can be more comfortable doing abs and arm raises when doing my 30 shred workout. I have not gone on the scale in a little while but I do see my arms, legs and abs getting more defined. So even though this DVD is kicking my butt leaving me so sore the next day, I love it and it's working! :)

This weeks goals are:
* 5 days a week of home cooking ;) (I'm doing really well with this goal)
* 1300 - 1600 daily Calories intake (Tracking on Iphone "my fitness pal app)
* Limit Sweets, use 3 bite rule (Not really working out well, so I need this reminder)
* No FRENCH FRIES (yes, I still need a reminder for this)
* 3 days a week basement work out (Jillian Michaels 30 day shred video)
* 3 days a week 10000 steps on the pedometer
* loofah body scrub to enhance circulation (my skin is becoming verrry soft :)

Cookie deliveries for Haiti Relief

Sunday I helped my sister with her cookie deliveries. She raised $500 and donated it to RedCross for Haiti Relief Check out her Blog Here

We had a fun day traveling the city, chatting, spending time together and visiting friends and family.

We hardly took any pictures but we did take this pic at a red light ahah!

At one of our stops to my lovely cousin, we also received a little gift!Blueberries! She bought us both a delicious pack of blueberries. Yum! They made a yummy afternoon snack for me today:)


Short post today. Tomorrow I will post my weekly goals. I ate fast food this weekend :( I will do much much better this week. Hope you all are having a good Monday!

Happy weekend! Here and There.

Why do I have a BAG of chocolates! I know it's terrible! One of my amazing cousins brought my mom a big box of chocolates and when I went over to visit she gave me a bag to take home. How could I resist! I did however empty it a lot. There was at least 10 Areos in that bag, I took out 5 haha! This was Thursday night and so far I have not touched that bag :)


My sister over at Amandascookies4hope had a great idea to raise money for Haiti. She asked family and friends for donations and if they donated she would give them a box of her free homemade cookies! Well she raised $500 this week and I am going to help her make the deliveries tomorrow ;) Fun!

Wordless Wednesday and Update

I only have a wordless picture along with words below on my diet update :)

30 day SHRED OMG! I'm still on level 1 and I still can barely walk the next day after I workout. I do it 3 times a week and I'm feeling my muscles toning whoohoo!

This week I am doing really well on my calorie counting so I am proud of that and I'm not having any grumpiness either! I do however feel tired, but then again I have been going to bed really late. I'm so busy when I get home from work and then finally I get down time later in the evening and I love reading my blog friends posts so I end up staying up so late. zzzz I need more sleep.

Coffee>>Before the holidays I really started to kick the coffee habit but because of the holidays I started drinking more of it. I currently have only 1 coffee in the morning but I find myself craving it in the afternoon, I rarely give in to that crave but really why am I craving another coffee!. (hmm obviously because I'm soo tired but still - So strange.)

Well I'm glad it's Thursday well in 20 mins. I'm really looking forward to the weekend.

Weekly Goals

Last week I was having a hard time with my calorie reduction. I started feeling really down and tired. When I finally increased it at the end of the week, I felt more alive. SOO weird! I'm trying really hard to find that balance and today I feel like I'm on the right track. I'm still going to aim for 1300 calories a day, but allow for 1500 even 1600 when I need. Today I'm on track for 1300 and don't feel at all hungry.

I brought cantaloupe and carrots and clementines for snacks, instead of crackers and nuts that have higher calories.

Dinner I made Chicken Parmigiana with olives. YUM AND I still have calories left for a piece of Apple pie and glass of milk :)

The weekend was very mild so I was able to get a LONG walk in. I can't wait for spring to get my jogs/walks back on track.


Here are my weekly goals:

1. My 2 front teeth are veneers, Got hit by a flying rock(aka 13 year old boy throwing rocks and I was in the way)

2. I have a tattoo that I got after my dad passed, its sentimental but I’m not really into tattoos and it reminds me of a crazy time in my life, soo I’m considering getting It removed. (personal choice, I have nothing against tattoo’s ;)

3.The one thing that made me smile even harder than anything at my wedding was my wedding cake… oh wait, that's not something new ahah is it weird that anything with food makes me happy.. It was strawberry shortcake inside mmm mmm

4.I type with 1 hand. Trying to break the habit. I can use both but feels so uncomfortable, so I stick to 1.

5. I still have 4 of my childhood diaries.

6. I always straighten my hair, even if I put it in a pony tail. ahah

7. Ive had 2 operations, removed a cyst on my hand at 12 and my tonsils at 14.

Good thing it was just 7, took me a while to think of things! ahha!

The Sugar Doll Award!


Sweet Kimberly over at Terra del sole gave me another award! ;) The Sugar Doll award. Kimberly i a very smart and inspiring down to earth woman. I'm learning so much from her and just love reading her blog and her sweet comments too.

1. Zoe loves me! I know, call me crazy cat lady, but I only have 1 :) and she think I'm her mom soo she thinks I'm fabulous!

2. I love nature, parks and trails and Ocean and Sand...

3. I love my husband and very grateful for everything I have I thank God everyday

4. I have a loving family, we have been through tough situations and lost my dad when I was 21 but with time it only made us stronger. ;)

5. I find the cemetery a very peaceful place and is a place I can gather my thoughts (I swear the wind stops when I'm there and it's very soft and still)

6. I try my best to help others when I can, even if it's just lending an "ear".

7. I'm growing and learning so much every day.

Found that pic on google and that is how I pretty much look and feel.

Last week I cut my calories by ALOT and started counting my calories in my Iphone app. Last week I did really well and this week I have been on track. However since Monday I have been grumpy and tired and totally not myself. I pretty much look sick too, people at work are asking me if I'm ok (ahah, no I'm NOT, I'm hungry! GRR) I even got not 1 but 2! cold sores, gross I know I get them when I'm overly stressed and now I guess when I'm overly hungry too ahaha.

From writing on my blog in the past I know I need to find that balance, I've talked about it before but It seems I keep trying new things and they end up flopping.

So today I decided to keep doing everything I'm doing just increase my calories a little bit more so I don't feel so starved!.

Next week I will start again with taking my measurements as well, that way I can track my total progress :)

Just one of those days...

So I’m having one of those days, where the glass is half empty. Yesterday I was so tired and so cranky and today is not that much better. Today is a grump post, so feel free to skip it :p

My mood… Is Blahh! That is how I feel inside and out! Could it be that I’m cutting so many calories and my body is mad that it’s hungry. HUH light bulb just went off here, it could be because I am a little hungry and therefore irritable. Well either way I was on a downer and my head was going to explode with the whole woulda/shoulda/coulda still wanna do type stuff. Really this could drive a person crazy. I have that overwhelming feeling of boredom again and it seems it is only during the week, the repetitive day in and day out, Blahh! Everything in me is going against it.

Today as I tweeted my grumpiness I started thinking of things I enjoy... and I know I love blogging!

So I decided today to make things a little more fun. I love blogging and I love reading my blogger friends blogs so I decided I will start doing giveaways. I never did them before so I will peek at other blogs to see how it’s done. I'm excited for a giveaway!

So keep up with my blog posts one of them will have a giveaway very soon :)

**Diet update - 1pm and only 600 calories left for my day. Ugh oh.

Monday goals

Today was a tiring Monday! I woke up extremely tired and ended up drinking more coffee's than usual, actually more than I ever drink in one day!

But the work day is done with and it's time to look at my Monday goals :)

This week for lunch I'm switching to wraps :)



My weekly goals:

* 5 days a week of home cooking ;) (I;m doing really well with this goal)
* Limit carb intake
* Limit Sweets, use 3 bite rule
* No FRENCH FRIES
* Cut coffee as much as possible and replace with Green Tea
* 3 days a week basement work out (Jillian Michaels 30 day shred video)
* 3 days a week 10000 steps on the pedometer
* loofah body scrub to enhance circulation (my skin is becoming verrry soft :)

I'm happy that the new year has started off really well in relation to watching my calories and exercising. It's all becoming just a lifestyle change that is working well for me so far.

Tonight it's Oven baked wings, samosas and a big spinach salad!

30 day shred update

If you are like me you are sad the weekend is over :(. I had a really good weekend, I hope you did too!

To end a good weekend my husband and I went for a ride north to the apple farm to buy apple pie :) I'm doing really well with my calories sooooooo a piece of apple pie is well deserved. ahah! :)

Ok I know many of you are also doing the 30 day shred... What a workout! and I'm still only on level 1!!! If you are considering getting the DVD, I say what are you waiting for!!?? Go get it! And all you need is a mat and weights :) as the DVD says ahah!
For those of you just beginning, one tip I can give, is to really pay attention to Jillian, she gives really good tips on technique and boy when you follow her words you feel it! Especially the last Ab workout... you know what I'm talking about :)

Do any of you know how many calories are burned in the 30day shred levels? I guess it would depend on our individual body weight as well hmm I'll be googling that now.

For lunch this week I'm switching back to wraps, I want to switch it up weekly so I don't get bored :) I'll post on that tomorrow.

Snack time!

Love my weekends. I get to catch up on so many things. Today my husband and I cleaned the whole house and took down the Christmas tree, ran some errands and just spent some quality time together.

I cooked every meal at home today and it was great.

Watching my calories with my Iphone App, is amazing. I love seeing how many calories I'm taking in and it helps me choose foods that are less calories.

Tonight for dinner I made Beef with mushrooms and onions with zucchini and sweet potato fries. Water to drink and a Spinach Salad to eat first!


Tonight we decided to stay in and make it a movie night. We went for a ride to Starbucks for a Latte and rented some movies for the night. I had about 300 calories left for my daily intake and I wanted to snack but wanted to make sure I did not go over.

So I popped some Samosas in the oven, 50 cals each

And put out some pistachios. (Not too many, there are hidden calories in these little nuts)

Love my Iphone!

My week has been great. I have been tracking my daily calories with an Iphone App called "my fitness pal" i have a 1330 calorie intake and as I add what I eat it tell me my remaining amount. It also allows me to add my cardio, and it will minus calories lost and add extra calories to intake etc you get the point. Well I love it! It is working really well for me.

Today we decided to go out for dinner to red lobster with my sister and her boyfriend. We haven't been there for a while, so I was looking forward to it. Soooo I added my calories to my app... not the best idea haha! Can't even bare to tell you the calorie intake for a dinner blah! It was good tho haha! Eating out adds much to much calories :(

We just had to get dessert :) We only got 1, and we shared :)

During the week I have been eating a sort of 2 course meal. A new thing I do is add a bowl of salad on it's own. Eat that first then eat my dinner. That way I fill up on my greens before I get to my dinner ;)

2lbs down!

Today I am home - I'm not feeling too good so took the day off. Not as fun ha!

I did my weigh in today and I lost 2lbs! Whoohoo I have been closely watching my cals and I also only had a salad for dinner last night because I was already feeling under the weather. ( I think that helped)

So far my Breakfast and Lunches have been going really well for me.

Breakfast 235 Calories:
Spelt Flax Organic Bread 100 Cal
1/2 tablespoon peanut butter 45 cal
1 tablespoon of jam 30 cal

I started making my own coffee, adding 1 tbs of raw sugar 20 cals and 2 tbs of half and half cream 40 cals. (saving 55 cals from coffee shop coffee)

Lunch 200 Calories:

1 cup of plain brown rice. 170 Cals.
(I boiled lots of brown rice on Sunday to have for the whole week)

I also bought a bunch of packaged seasoned veggies. The one below is 50 cals for 1 cup. You can use 1 package for 2 lunches.

Put 1 cup of brown rice in a container top with 1/2 a package of the above veggies. You can add more seasoning like Tabasco or even lemon on the rice and add as many different veggies too if you want. The below pic I had added cilantro, tomato and garlic to my packaged veggies.

Snacks:
2 tbs of walnuts 82 Cals

2 Clementines 80 cals

9 baby carrots 35 cals

Also, going back to Breakfast. Since we started making our own coffee we bought cute cups and lids at a wholesale place and estimated about $12/month if we make our own coffee, compared to $65 sometimes more in buying coffee monthly.



Counting cals and money, so far so good!

Back to work after the holidays!

Back to work! Oh was it hard to get up today!

I brought my lunch today, I had brown rice and veggies. Yummy and healthy.

My snacks today were 2 clementines and a handful of walnuts.

I think I will do all right with my new eating plan ;)

I downloaded a new calorie counter App for my iphone and it is great in counting the cals in everything I eat!!!

Another area I have been watching is my budget. Last week husband and I tracked our spending and we were AMAZED on how much we totalled at the end of the week. Heck, we never paid any attention to that. So with a new budget app we are tracking our budget too and so far so good! Our goal is to save more and spend less to reach our new 2010 goals.

With yesterday's winnings I donated a little to a charity and the rest I deposited to my account and instead of running out and spending it quick , I will be responsible and use it for my needs not wants ;)

It's time to put our attention to counting! .....calories and money! ;)

Snowy, lucky day!

It snowed all day long today! But I still got all my errands done and I'm ready for a healthy week!

Today we ate all meals at home too! Before we left to church this morning we had an Omelette for Breakfast with a coffee. For lunch we had a cold cut sandwich and dinner we had Spicy Chicken wings and salad!

Today I went to a new grocery store. (Highland Farms) It's much bigger with more selection as well but I'm still hooked on my original grocery store, because at Metro I can collect air miles points as well which is great. I'm still undecided. (but...Hold this thought....)

I bought a new Flax Organic bread for breakfast and I will try it out tomorrow, I hope it's good, it will be 30 cals less that what I ate before for BF.

Back to work tomorrow :( I had a great time during the holidays and even though it is Sunday, I now can't wait for Friday ahaha!

Going back up to where I said "Hold that thought" an awesome thing happened to me today!!! I loveee playing scratch cards, specifically cash for life ;) and yesterday I played 2 and won $4.00. So today when I went to Highland farms for groceries I cashed in my $4.00 and doubled it to buy 2 more cards.

Well, I came home I put the cards aside and made our chicken wing dinner. Ate... washed the dishes... and was about to blog... When I decided to scratch my cards. Cash for life has about 5 boxes on the card to scratch so...The First card I didn't win anything. On the second card, I scratched and won $50.00! I scream and I'm excited! I continue and win another $10, whoohoo husband and I jump up with excitement. I'm thinking how cool is this! But then I scratch again and I won $500!!!!!!! Soooo super excited! I even teared up! I never won more that $10.00 on a single play. Totally made my day!

2010 New Goals

It's a snowy new year and I'm indoors just relaxing ahh ;). Our New Years Eve Party was lots of fun and as much as I hate that I only have 2 more days until back to work.. I'm ready for 2010!

Husband and I do a goal setting workshop every new year so we will be doing that today.

As the new year begins so does my new weight loss goals.

My goals:

Lose 10lbs in 3 months!

I'm tired of just maintaining my weight and I really look forward to losing weight!

I will be tracking my progress here on my blog.

My weekly goals are similar to the ones I had last year and I will be continuously be tweaking and adjusting them throughout the weeks as well.

* 5 days a week of home cooking ;)
* Portion Control, use a small plate for meals.
* Limit carb intake
* Limit Sweets, use 3 bite rule
* Healthy cooking and healthy choices if eating out.
* No FRENCH FRIES
* Cut coffee as much as possible and replace with Green Tea
* 3 days a week basement work out (Jillian Michaels 30 day shred video)
* 3 days a week 10000 steps on the pedometer
* loofah body scrub to enhance circulation
