Approaching the terrible twos!

One month away from turning 2!!!

This little man is letting us know that he is almost 2 and ready to take on the world ha!

Mr meltdown let's you know when he's upset. He'll scream, cry and throw himself to the floor kicking and screaming and looking over to make sure we are paying attention ha!

Little K is loving daycare. He still cried when we hit the driveway, but once he's there he is happy. And our provider has only good things to say about him. ;) the other day she said she is very impressed with all the colors he has learned. And asked if I knew! Of course! I taught him! I'm just glad he is having good days at daycare and is happy!

Beautiful fall days

Who doesn't like fall! The weather is soo nice!

Yesterday we played in the backyard and Kristian as usual is fascinated with Mother Nature. He was picking up leaves, smelling the flowers, listening to the leaves rustling in the wind. He loves being ouseye (outside) as he says it.

Minus the smiley cookies we had ;) we also are getting back to healthy juicing. We stopped for no reason the last couple weeks.

But even though we love fall, we don't love flu season. So getting those extra nutrients is so important!

I made one juice for Kris and made another juice for myself but I ended up mixing the 2 for me ha!

Out usual that Kris loves:
Bunch of kale
1 carrot
1 apple

I give him half juice mixed with half water.

So I poured the rest in with the juice I made.

2 celery stalks
1 carrot
And a bunch of parsley.

I wasn't a fan of the celery in my juice. So I won't be doing that juice any time soon ha!

A pat on the back, mom.

Whoa whoa whoa! How many ah ha moments until the big ah ha moment! Ha!

I've been really soul searching lately and uncovering a lot of deep experiences that has made me who I am today. It's painful and tough to touch on some experiences of the past. But with looking within I'm uncovering a new me. An awareness of the old me and how I want the new me to be with a balance.

Having a child really brings out a lot if different emotions. Ones that sneak up on you in different situations.  So I now know the meaning behind life learning.

This little boy is my light. My everything.
Seeing him go off to daycare today waving, saying bye bye and blowing me a kiss just melted my heart!

Us moms don't give ourselves enough pats on the backs. We usually kick ourselves down when we think we've done something wrong. Let's face it, some days I feel like I've done everything wrong!

Today I gave myself a pat on the back.

Seeing my little independent 23 month old say bye to me this morning with a smile and ready to take on his day with confidence, I know I did some things right :)

So moms! Let's pat ourselves on the back today for doing a great job! We ARE doing a great job!

Basement play area

We finally made the basement into a play area.

I love it!

It has all his toys and we get to spend our time as a family down there playing with little K.

Today I bought new bean bag seats to be a little more comfy.
They were on sale and at least 5 people stopped me as I was walking out to see what they were and wanted to buy them too! Ha!

Now to find more time to workout too. Sigh.

Weekend fun

This weekend we had my nieces birthday party at a playland. The kids were crazy ha! Running all over, the parents were exhausted haha!

Afterwards we had a BBQ party at my brothers house. Baby k fell asleep on the way down at 830. I put him in the stroller, covered him up and he was parked in the backyard noise and all and slept the whole time we were there. I actually was able to have a conversation, eat and have some wine!

Sunday the fun continued when we had a family lunch with my inlaws. We had a delicious meal. Baby k enjoyed all the food too, minus the wine. Ha!

Yum!

Today was my sisters birthday! I stopped over this afternoon with a treat. Mmm!

Hope you all had a great Monday!

Basement play area for baby k

We finally re-did the floors in the basement to make it more cozy for a play area for baby k.

We lived here for 4 years and rarely used the basement. But with a kid. I'm so glad we have that extra space.

Here are some before and after pics.

New floors

Baby k loves the extra space to run and play. Even better when I get laundry done while we play too ha!

Baby k will be starting daycare next week and our plan is to play in the basement every day after dinner before bedtime so we get to play together everyday!

Little ones first haircut at the salon

My mother inlaw is a hairdresser and little K had his first haircut! My little guy's hair grew in pretty slow! But it's been getting out of control these days so it was time for a haircut!

When we first got him to sit he refused and just yelled NO NO when we touched his hair. We thought we wouldn't be able to cut his hair today! He was just not having it!

But the second time around we had the help of the iPad and blueberries ha! He ate and pretended to feed the bunny his blueberries and that kept him occupied!

Mil had to work fast!

I'm sooo happy he sat through it!!

He looks sooo cute with his new haircut!!!

Before and after

Yay!!!!

Hot week!

This week was super hot and humid!

Finding things to do with a toddler without spending too much time outside at once was hard.

We went to a new playland with a friend. The kids loved it! Watching them climb up stairs and climb over things being brave was so cute to watch.

I made homemade juice Popsicles which kept us cool too!

We also went to the splashpad for some fun too. It was fun until a little boy about 6 years old came and starting kicking water in Kristian's face until he cried. ;( horrible. It broke my heart! Kris was so upset. I picked up Kris and tried to calm him down, but he was afraid to go back in. Boo!

Next week will be cooler and not as hot and humid as this week whew! We love summer and want to enjoy the outdoors!
