Fitness Friday!

I haven't been doing too well with fitness friday. I did however accomplish the goal of no sweets for the week because I was still recovering from the food poisoning I had last weekend.

My tummy has been sensitive and I haven't been able to eat much.

With that said, I lost 5 lbs haha Whohoo! But it was nooo fun.

I'm hoping to really get back on track next week!

Next weeks goal is to Do three sets of planks for 60 seconds each, each day. Eeek! Let's see how I do with that!

Fitness Friday - Week 3

Week 2 was "Move every day" I think I did really well with this.  Walking in the mall, cleaning the house while my little one plays nicely in his playpen, or just walking around the house to get baby to sleep :)

This week was extra hard when counting calories. Baby is going through his 12 week growth spurt, and has been nursing every 2 hours during the day and back to every 3 hours a night. So I have been really hungry and have not been doing well with portion control.

Today while out I was soo hungry and was about to hit a fast food place for a burger and fries! But thought, I'm was doing so well with not going to fast food drive thru's (Tim Horton's not included :) so I went to Tim Hortons instead for a sandwich.


In 2 weeks Salsa Babies fitness class starts! And the mom and baby fitness dvd i ordered should arrive soon!

We are on week 3 of fitness Friday: Drink hot tea or coffee in the morning instead of soda

I'll do well with this goal because I don't drink any pop, we don't even have any pop in our house.

Since I was pregnant and now breastfeeding, I only drink water and occasionally ice tea.

My goals for week 3: Count Calories on My FitnessPal, Move everyday and make healthy choices.

Fitness Friday!

I tracked my calories this week on my fitness pal. I actually only met my goal a few times this week. It's been tough sticking to the calories I should be eating. Especially with Breastfeeding I find myself sooo hungry!

I think I did well with daily exercise, lots of walking and holding baby while doing some squats haha. I didn't to my exercise DVD but I ordered a new one so can't wait for it to come.

I haven't stepped on the scale since earlier this week, I was down 1lbs. Hoping to be down another by next week.

2012 fitness goals

I've lost 1 pound since last week which brings me to 11 pounds to get to my first goal.

Today I ordered a new baby and mom fitness DVD!

I also registered for Salsa babies to begin February (salsa babies is a salsa dance class while baby is strapped to you).

And I also registered for stroller fitness in April with my friend over at www.believinginserendipity.com

As baby K gets older I also want to enroll him in baby classes so he can socialize with other babies too.

I want to make weight loss fun and I think I found what will make it fun for me in 2012!

I'm excited to start my classes with this cute little boy!

Fitness Friday!

A fellow new mom Cait over at The Blessed life is doing a Fitness Friday Link up! So I decided to join in!

I have 12lbs to get to my pre-pregnancy weight, but 23lbs in total to get to my first goal that I want to hit.

I also want to get strong again, my back has been very weak these days.

I lost a total of 27lbs in 10 weeks which is awesome. I'm EBF so I read that it can burn up to 500 calories a day. However I am ALWAYS hungry and over eating because of it :(

So it's the new year and I have LOTS of occasions coming up so getting strong, healthy and weight-loss is what I am focused on.

I will be following the weekly goals that the blessed life has made along with my own.

Working out 3x a week. This will include
1. Baby and Mom exercise while baby is in the baby bjorn carrier. Squats, Lunges, Walking.
2. work out DVD while baby naps
3. Walking with baby in the stroller.
and
4. counting calories on MyFitnessPal
5. I am also going to join Mom and Baby Salsa in February!

My 2012 goals!

 
2011 wow, it went by soo quick it seems. January 2011 we took an amazing mini trip to San Francisco then got pregnant in February! I was pregnant most the year! This year has had so many firsts for me. heck, I had a baby!!

I learned so much and grew so much this year. I found strengths in me and an inner patience and even weaknesses I never knew I had. I also saw the truths of people all around me, who really care and who don't. Some more shocking than others. The year really opened my eyes to so many realities, the good and the bad.


2012 will be another one of these years that will have soo many more firsts. My emotions run from happy and excited to scared and anxious. Overall I'm looking forward to this new year and all the change it will bring.
 
Life is a little different now that i have the most amazing little boy in my life.
It's incredible how much I love him more and more as each day goes by. So I need to think realistic goals because I'm a mama now and 2012 marks his first year of life so all my attention is on him! 
I love my little boy.
Here are some goals I'd like to reach for me and baby this year.
* Lose weight - 25lbs
* Exercise 3x a week
* Reach 1000+ followers on my blog. I love meeting new bloggers!
* Focus more on my recipe blog (quick and easy recipes for a busy mom)
* Start a new collection of shoes (haha my pregnancy made my foot grow a size!)
I'm increasing my shoes by shopping on Shoedazzle everything is 39.95!

* Find a mom and me balance and be the best new mom I can be in my own unique
way and be confident with who I am now ;)

I'll add more as the year goes by. For now these are my 2012 goals.

Hair, Birthday and Goals

Friday I cut my hair! As you saw in my previous posts. A little shorter than I wanted, but my hair grows super fast so I didn't mind... although I was having an issue with it the last couple days but this morning I think I got it right!

Yesterday was my husband and my niece's Birthdays!!! A turned 10!! And My husband which is also A turned 32!!

Whats a 10 year olds birthday with out Justin Bieber!!! haha!
My sister and I bought my niece a couple outfits from PINK. Here is one of the dresses we bought her, she's so cute in it. If they had my size I'd buy one for me too! haha!
Since A and I have been carpooling, my schedule needed to be re-worked. I'm still working on it but so far only 2 meals of the day BF and Lunch are on track. Dinner is the issue as we always find so many things to do together right after work! So I need to get back on track with cooking home meals at least 4 days a week!

I haven't weighed myself in a couple weeks, but it helps me not focus on the number too much and more on the healthy choices, and I'm ok with that... for now haha!

This weeks snack choice - Blueberries and yogurt!! Yum!!!

2011 - 3 week goal re-cap

Now that we ended week 3 in January I just wanted to re-cap my 2011 goals.
So far we have booked our first trip for 2011 and SF trip is coming up soon! I have been sticking to my workouts, tried hot yoga (and plan to register soon) I did really well with calorie counting up until the last couple days I cheated a LOTTTT. AND I failed in my no pop and burger rule this week. But I'm very impressed at how long I held out. I'll try again beginning tomorrow. We also started on our reno's and boy it's been messy around here!

Of course, where we are, Zoe is. She is a very involved cat. If she's not around it means 2 things, she's feeling sick, or we locked her in a closet or bedroom by accident ahhah! As we were working yesterday she got up on the ladder and it was so cute! With all the sanding dust around she will be needing a bath very soon!
Yesterday we went to a friends place for dinner. She made this yummy shrimp bisque! She'll be giving me the recipe tomorrow.

And my sister made this brownie cheese cake....I asked for a big piece... eek!


Since I started my goals I've been following my rule of making BF at home and bringing lunch. I bought a new lunch bag last week. It's bigger. I find I'm not bringing enough snacks and I hate driving home from work starved. So I need to bring enough food for lunch and 2 snacks while at work. I always seem to forget this from time to time, I need my snacks!

Tuesday Basement Workout!

Tuesdays are my basement workouts. So as soon as I got home I put dinner in the oven and went to workout!

Yesterday was such a busy day at work. My food choices started off great, but I was so busy in the afternoon I had no time to eat my snacks and I left work an hour later too! So my husband met me near by after work for dinner. We went for sushi but decided to order a dinner dish instead, I choose the Salmon (I'm sure it's still way above the calories than I wanted).... I really don't want to be eating out during the week, so I was a little upset that it was MONDAY and I already ate out! Glad today was a better day :)

I bought this new peanut butter and just love it!!

Since I've been having salads for lunch, my breakfasts are either Kashi Cereal and Coffee or 1 piece of 12 grain toast with peanut butter sprinkled with chia seeds and coffee. Since I bought this peanut butter, I'm choosing this breakfast a lot more haha!

The next couple weeks my schedule will get tighter, so I'm trying to be pro-active and picking out the days when I can fit my workouts in. So far Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday nights fit well. As for Hot Yoga, I really wanted to go every week,(I found a time slot that is 60mins :)) but its so hard to fit it in. It may be a every other week thing, I hope!

Down 2.5 lbs!

Last week went great great! I followed my goals with counting my calories, eating at home during the week and exercising, so yesterday mornings weigh in, I was down 2.5lbs!

I'm being much more attentive with eating out as well (because we love going out for dinner on the weekends!) So Friday night my husband wanted to go for a lobster dinner. I skipped the rice that is came with and I also skipped dipping the lobster in the butter. So I saved some calories there! And still enjoyed this yummy lobster!

Yesterday morning we woke up to all this snow! So what a perfect day to try HOT YOGA! HA! Let me just say WOW! It was HOT!
It felt great! Although the truth is, it was a little intimidating with all the VERY fit women doing all the poses correctly and there I was full figured falling around and not being able to do the full 1.5 hours HA! I wore a tank top and yoga capri's I was soaked with sweat right through my bra! I'm not good with hydrating myself so of course I didnt drink enough water as I should have and that caused my day to be a little off with a massive headache. I also had killer lower back pain (oh boy!)

I will definitely be going again. I need to look at their schedule to find a shorter class, 1.5 hours was wayyy to much for this beginner!
This week we are planning our trip to San Francisco for February! I'm really excited! My husband and I have a tradition of going to buy a travel book of where we are going when we plan trips, so we did that yesterday. I know some of my followers live there or have visited so any suggestions you have just let me know! :)

Working on those goals!



The best thing to do after setting goals is to start working towards them right away!

So in the process of begging my sister to join yoga with me (she won't!) we decided that we will join the gym instead!


It was great! We use to work out here all the time when I lived in the area. I use to live just down the street from my mom, and my sister and I would meet up a couple times a week to workout or do fitness classes together. All the good memories flooded back and brought me back to some of my happiest times when I lived in the city. Good thing my mom still lives in that area so I still feel part of that community. (Although I do love where I live now, A huge piece of me is with our first home, I have sooo many amazing memories from the 4 years we lived there so I love thinking about it :)
It's snowing like crazy out there! And we decided to walk to the gym it's not that far... but it was a blizzard! ahaha!

Annnnnd I decided to try Hot Yoga! My cousin and I will be going this weekend... EEK I'm nervous about that! Hot Yoga??!!!! Wish me luck!

Food : I'm doing really well with making Breakfast, lunch and dinner! And controlling my calories too. I love New Year Goals! I need to drop some weight already! The scale # is a little scary! I'm not going to lie.

But the key is to set yourself up for success! (says Anthony Robbins!) So I'm doing just that! Buying healthy foods in order to make healthy meals for BF, Lunch and Dinner! Planning my weekly schedule ahead of time with alarms on my phone that remind me just in case! and It works! Set up exercise dates with family/friends that way you commit to it! These are my New Year strategies.

Another goal I'm attacking, is the traveling. We decided on our first trip! Husband and I can't take a week off work until the end of March so we decided to take 2 days off and do a 4 day trip to San Francisco! So I'm in the process of planning that!

My 2011 Goals!


Ok I’m done my goals, Well for now. I’m sure I will add things as the year goes on.

Yesterday my husband and I went down to our old neighborhood to discuss our 2011 goals. We went for a walk in different areas. Down in an area called the Junction, then in High Park and down on lakeshore where I rollerblade in the summer.(and people were rollerblading yesterday too!)

Here are some of my 2011 goals!

Health/Life:

* Lose 15-20lbs but more focused on healthy eating and healthy exercise.

* Yoga once a week

* Workout 3x a week.

* Take up Italian Classes again.

* TTC in 2011 Husband and I are very excited to start a family. Although it’s harder than I thought it would be I trust God has a plan.

Travel:

* Visit 1 place in Canada (Alberta or Vancouver)

* Visit 1 new Caribbean island

* Visit 2 new places in the USA

* And mayyybeee if we can take more than a week off at one time, go to Europe!

Business:

* Launch my new Blog site (details to come later in 2011)

* Dedicate 3x a week or more to my side biz's.

Spiritual:

* Attend church more often

* Help those in need

* Love life and be grateful for all that I have everyday!

I have a longer list than this one and I posted it in my bedroom and on my vision board. :)

New Years Eve Fun!

Happy New Year Friends!!

New Years Eve was so much fun. No one we knew had any plans, so last minute my sister decided to have a party at my moms house. :) It was a pretty good turn out.


It wasn't the safest thing to do in the house ahahah and also not good for meee, the smoke from these things made my asthma act up and of course once again I didn't have my inhaler. So that slowed me down. Breathing from the tiniest airway. I looked online and read that drinking a cold coke could help. I did that, it helped a bit, that or me sitting in one spot for a while. It didn't slow down the fun tho!

It was a late night and the party ended at 6am!
Spending NYE with this princess was perfect :)


And now the holidays are over!!! :(

It's time to get focused on my goals! Every New Year the husband and I re-write our goals and re-do our schedules to ensure we are a success at our goals. So we'll l do that today :)

I'm going to work off my goals from November We have a lot of great new ideas for 2011. Can't wait to get started!

Thinking of my 2011 goals

Ok, so it's that time again to re-visit, re-vamp, re-create goals for the new year. I'm thinking really hard on this one. 2010 was a little more crazy than I expected it to be and I'm looking forward to taking some control in 2011! (with what God allows of course! Haha! Some times we are not in control at all, this I know!)

So I started my list and I'm working on.

Weight Loss is of course on top of my list.

And eating this...


Won't help me! But it was really really delicious! I blame watching Man vs Food all day yesterday all about burgers! Not a good show to watch when wanting to watch my calories. Ha!

This morning I went to visit my prego bff and her new place. We chatted over a coffee and muffins. I can't wait to meet her little son. She is due in February and I'm sooo excited!

Then I went to hang with my sister to get some things ready for NYE!

She was baking cupcakes and I noticed this little knife she was using.



And It's a knife from my Dental Hygiene kit from when I was in college 10 years ago! ahahah! It was used to mix sealants and stuff. So funny. It made me think about the last 10 years and boy sooooo much has happened in 10 years. Every year made me different, made me stronger, made me grow and made me understand more of who I am. 2011, I'm excited!

Breakfast suggestions?

My schedule feels like it's getting tighter and tighter and I really want to incorporate more workouts in my week! So I decided to bring my gazelle up to one of the spare bedrooms where I have my trampoline. This way I can sneak in workouts in the mornings.

My goal this week is to have at least 4 /20 min workouts and at least 2 45 min workouts. Oh It's on!

Breakfast has become an issue for me. I really love having smoothies but since it started getting colder I just can't do them brrr! I was having oatmeal for a while but now I feel bored with it.

So I bought these 100 cal bagels, they are cute haha! pretty good with a little bit of peanut and jelly!
But I'm looking for some variety... any suggestions for a quick healthy BF?????

Only Wednesday?

Burr, it's getting cold here! (eyes are closed in my pic as usual! haha!) But I bought a new hat! I love it. My mom and sister loved it too, so yesterday my sister and I went to get a black one for my mom and my sister bought a purple one.

Yesterday sister and I took the day off work to hang out and shop. We went wedding dress shopping and my sister tried on some beautiful dresses! The sales lady was using me as her assistant, I didn't mind one bit!
Today I decided to add 5mins of the trampoline, I'll be doing this every morning in addition to my 4 workouts. It's quick and gives me some extra energy in the morning before work.

It's the time of the month (tmi i know) but I was one grumpy gal today. I was annoyed and emotional and felt like my world was falling apart. At work I held on to my rock and repeated, GOD is not trying to destroy me (lol) so dramatic but I was serious ha! But! I'm ok and in a much better mood tonight :) Whew!!!
