Florida Family vacation part3

While we were in Florida we took some time to travel around! 

One full day we drove all the way to Key West! We left the condo early and made our way! 

A 4 hour drive! 

Little k is a great traveler he loves road trips so he was excited! 

We made some stops along the way to really enjoy the views! 

It's a beautiful relaxing drive! 

When we got to Key West, we walked around, had lunch, shopped a little and went to the southernmost point of the usa! 

We also went to tour Ernest Hemingway's home in Key West! 

Fun facts! Ernest Hemingway had many cats and some with 6 toes! Those cats were considered goodluck. 

He had a working room in the backyard. Like a man cave to do his writing. He had a daily rule to write 700 words or lunch time whichever came first was all he would do. Then he would go fishing for the afternoon and then hit the bar with his friends and listen to stories that he would later use in his books! 

He lived in this home for 9 years then went to live in cuba the next 25 years! 

So much fun! Little man loved observing the property and the cats! He needed to know all their names! Ha! 

That's a 6 toed cat! 

The next day we had our next adventure. After fun at the beach and pool we decided to drive to Palm beach for the afternoon!

Ahhhhh beautiful homes!!! Donald Trump has a huge home there too! 

We walked around Worth Ave, the Rodeo drive of Palm Beach 

We had dinner and the cutest italian restsurant. Surrounded by shops And in a little garden with water fountains and benches all around. 

Palm beach is soooo nice!!!!! 

Other evening trips included a drive down to South Beach! 

We had dinner in the Art Deco

Very entertaining! Loud music, lots of people. It's happening! Ha!

And we seen Ricky Martin!!! They were filming La Banda. So cool!! 

We really enjoyed our trip to Florida!

 A perfect family getaway! I can't wait to go as a family of 4! 

 

Florida Family Vacation - Part1

5 days in Florida! But why have we not traveled here before!? I'll post in parts because there are some of my own travel tips and memories I really want to keep and come back to! That's what my blog is all about! 

When we first decided to book a trip we wanted to think of a trip that we can easily do with 2 kids and especially on the time off that's given to us when they are in school! Like March break! I've seen many blogger friends post about family vacations in Florida and I see why they love it now! 

First we thought of driving... But decided to fly instead, being 6.5 months preggo. Which was great because it was only a 3 hour flight. Next time we will try driving! 

We booked a condo through the site homeaway.com

Which is great!!! Some tips I want to remember. 

1. Ask and make sure the condo your booking is the same one in the picture

We had no issue here! It was exactly  what we saw on the site. Oh and go for Oceanview/beach front property! We loved the condo we picked! Easy access to the beach and they had a great pool too! 

2. Pay online through the homeaway site with credit card, they even have extra insurance coverage to add if needed. We added it just incase! Some owners ask for cheque in the mail or give you direct bank info to deposit into. I don't like the sending a cheque way, we tried it and felt unsafe so I cancelled that condo and went with one I could pay directly with online. 

3. Check reviews on the site, or even call the site and they can tell you some info too!

4. If you don't know the area, get the address of the place and Google map it! So you have an idea. 

We stayed in the Hollywood area and absolutely loved it!!! 

So many restaurants and shops near by. 

We also rented a car which was super convenient . Pick up and drop off at the airport! Extra charges included getting a car seat but needed of course!! 

More vacation posts to come! We had fun in the sun! Enjoying the ocean and pool! We went sightseeing! To Palm beach, South Beach and drove all the way to Key West! Little K had a blast! 

Family trip to Cuba!!

We are back from a fun family vacation for my cousins wedding!! 

I have over 500 pictures but I'll share just a few ha! Well more than a few. 

We left last Saturday. We drove to the park n fly as it's so convient! We always do the park n fly, much better than depending on others, that way we are on our own schedule. 

The guys got all the luggages while we waited for the shuttle to the airport. 

Then to the airport. Our airport is amazing iPad central ha! 

The kids were so excited to go on the plane. Everyone was so well behaved and we had nooo issues at all!!

We arrived in the evening and met up with the rest of the family. 

We had a great view! Loved our room!

The weather was sooo nice! Ahh sun and ocean! 

There was a couple of days the winds picked up and there was big waves. We didn't go into the water with the kids. But the guys loved it ha! 

The evenings were so much fun too. Bring on the drinks! Ha! We would order soooo many drinks! The waiter asked if we would actually drink them... Umm of course! And we did! Ha! 

Loved seeing the kids play in the sand. They had so much fun seeing eachother everyday. They would wake up asking to go to breakfast together. Sooo sweet! Every morning we would have fresh made omlettes croissants and fruits to start our day.

Mr hot stuff on the beach. Super impressed with all the kids this week. 

2 of the days after breakfast we took the bus out to varadaro city to shop for a couple hours. Little k had sooo much fun on the bus. He truly is a good little traveller. The bus was a double decker so it was open to above the steps. Little K looked up and said the dinosaur bit the roof off. Ha!

We bought some gifts, including these guitars and these littles performed for us. Ha!

We had a wonderful vacation. Spending time with family. Eating our meals together, having conversations and playing beach side and pool side. Dressing up every evening for lobby drinks and entertainment.  We were a big fun group.
