Family trip to Cuba!!

We are back from a fun family vacation for my cousins wedding!! 

I have over 500 pictures but I'll share just a few ha! Well more than a few. 

We left last Saturday. We drove to the park n fly as it's so convient! We always do the park n fly, much better than depending on others, that way we are on our own schedule. 

The guys got all the luggages while we waited for the shuttle to the airport. 

Then to the airport. Our airport is amazing iPad central ha! 

The kids were so excited to go on the plane. Everyone was so well behaved and we had nooo issues at all!!

We arrived in the evening and met up with the rest of the family. 

We had a great view! Loved our room!

The weather was sooo nice! Ahh sun and ocean! 

There was a couple of days the winds picked up and there was big waves. We didn't go into the water with the kids. But the guys loved it ha! 

The evenings were so much fun too. Bring on the drinks! Ha! We would order soooo many drinks! The waiter asked if we would actually drink them... Umm of course! And we did! Ha! 

Loved seeing the kids play in the sand. They had so much fun seeing eachother everyday. They would wake up asking to go to breakfast together. Sooo sweet! Every morning we would have fresh made omlettes croissants and fruits to start our day.

Mr hot stuff on the beach. Super impressed with all the kids this week. 

2 of the days after breakfast we took the bus out to varadaro city to shop for a couple hours. Little k had sooo much fun on the bus. He truly is a good little traveller. The bus was a double decker so it was open to above the steps. Little K looked up and said the dinosaur bit the roof off. Ha!

We bought some gifts, including these guitars and these littles performed for us. Ha!

We had a wonderful vacation. Spending time with family. Eating our meals together, having conversations and playing beach side and pool side. Dressing up every evening for lobby drinks and entertainment.  We were a big fun group.

Just a little snow for fall

Our first snow fall! Ok it’s not even winter yet, and yesterday was a crazy evening driving home in rush hour as the snow came down. Oh and the freezing temperature making the roads icy and horrible to drive in.

 

I really shouldn’t complain, I mean, we had a great Fall and from -18 to +9 tomorrow we all can agree that mother nature is a bit confused ha!

 

I’m soo glad I bought these Sorel boots. Walking from my parking spot to and from work was a piece of cake yesterday evening and this morning.

 

Oh and my leather gloves with the iphone tips. Perfect.

 

 

Yesterday I left work just as the snow began.  I spent 3 hours in the car. Picking up little K from daycare and heading home. We stopped along the way to pick up hot chocolate for me and a grilled cheese for little K. That made sitting in traffic on the hwy a bit better. Little K was asking to go to the bathroom while we were in traffic eek. I told him to hold it. and he did! haha. He was in his pull ups and I was surprised that he held it till we got home! We are in the car a lot! So potty training and car rides… this will be a new challenge for us. If you have any suggestions please leave a comment below!

 

Yesterday was just the first snow fall and it wasn’t THAT bad. We have worse to come. I’m also sending my prayers to all those in Buffalo that got hit really bad. Stay safe and warm. Lets pray our winter takes it easy this year.

Weekend with Friends and Family over Eggs, Steaks and Baleadas

We had a great weekend with family and friends.

 

Saturday morning I went out for breakfast with a friend and brought little K along. We went to Milestones in the mall. I’ve never been there for breakfast. It was really nice and  the portions were HUGE . Little K’s kids menu of Bacon and Eggs was really the size for adults.

I spent the rest of the day with my little man, shopping and gathering last minute things for our trip.

Saturday night we went out for dinner with some friends. Steak and Wine!

I guess you can say I’m beginning to be picky with my steak. We go out for steak dinners often, and I like to try different types. Saturday I had the New York Steak (for the first time) The others got Rib eye steak and bone in Rib eye. I think the Bone in rib eye was the best one I tasted.

 

The appetizers were delicious too. Calamari, Fries, Sautéed mushrooms, Sugar snap peas. Yum!

 

A great evening with friends! 

Sunday morning I had to go into work for  couple hours.

zzzz I left the Mr and little K sleeping all snuggled in, while I left the house on a cold dark Sunday morning ha!

 

They woke up when I got home haha, they didn’t miss me at all.

 

I got home, got everyone ready, and we headed out to have Brunch at my inlaws.  

 

Honduran Breakfast, Baleadas!

I can’t wait for my new kitchen! I have a list of Italian and Honduran recipes that I want to perfect.

 

Growing up we always had Big family lunches on Sunday’s. My mom would make lasagna.

 

The Mr grew up with Baleadas for weekend breakfasts. These are 2 recipes that have priority, but we have a list of Italian and Honduran recipes we want to pass on to our children. :)

 

 

Although I must say, life is VERY different now than it was when I grew up. We are always on the go and out and about, I rarely have weekends home where I can spend hours making a delicious meal. I can tell you that I am NOT one to spend hours in the kitchen cooking (I enjoy cooking, just not for hours ha) . So that’s why we came up with a menu of dishes we love from growing up and those are the dishes we will focus on to pass on to our kids. Only a few of them are ones that take a lot of time.  That I can do! I can’t wait to get our new home and set new traditions for our kid(s)!

We have snow!!! 

Vacation time!

We are heading to a family vacation soon! By family I mean grandma and aunts and uncles and cousins too.  We are going for a wedding in Cuba!

 

It’ll be little K’s third plane trip in 3 years.

His first trip was to Mexico at 9 months!

 

Second trip to Jamaica at 18 months!

 

and now Cuba at 3 years old!

 

I have lots of organizing and packing to do! As I was making my list I realized how each trip was very different, based on his age.

 

Mostly good but with some challenges.

 

At 9 months he wasn’t walking yet so it was easier to plop him in one place to play or hold him or contain him in the stroller ha! Food wise was easy as well, he ate little bits from the restaurants and  he was still breastfeeding which helped a lot on the plane as well.  

 

At 18 months it wasn’t as easy as 9months but little K was soo good and loved the trip. He was walking uh hum running! so that was fun chasing him around most the time. Food wise he was great with the food at restaurants, so no issues. I just brought his usual snacks like goldfish and puffs to have when travelling.

 

Now at 3 years old. hmm. Big boy. Mind of his own! independent little boss of his world 3 year old. Packing for a 3 year old is pretty much the same as packing for myself, the only extras are his pull-ups and some snacks for the travelling.  I think little k will love it even more than the other times because he is older and understands the fun that comes with a vacation! We are all soo excited!

 I'll have tips for traveling with a 3 year old when we get back!
