A weekend of sick and play

Our weekend started off slow and sick! Kristian was still feeling sick in his stomach (he was sick during the week week with a stomach bug or something bad he ate that upset his tummy) I had stomach pain too on the weekend. So we stayed in our pj's all day Saturday the whole family watching movies and cuddling under blankies haha

Sunday we started feeling a little better and had a birthday party to go to. Kristian's friend turned 1! Ha!

He was having a blast at the playland! And ate so much cake too! My sweet little boy.

A late New Years post

Things have been a little upside down here. So I haven't had a chance to really put my New Years resolutions together. That to come! Lifestyle changes to come in many areas of my life. I'm looking forward to many changes in 2013!

New Years Eve we spend at my sisters house with family. It was fun and the kids had a blast together.

We started the new year with being sick already ;( we are home today cuddling and resting.

So glad it's Friday tomorrow!

14 months old!

You are 14 months today!!

You are an amazing little boy! You love to sing and dance and babble away. You are starting to expand your vocabulary and repeat many words we say. You love playing with us and your friends and cousins. You are very social and love being around everyone. You are a happy baby. Always smiling, you bring such joy to our lives.

You are almost 20lbs! You are a great eater! You eat every thing! You still enjoy feeding yourself, mr independent ha! You always put your hands up asking for more. You love sitting and eating meals with us. It's our family time and we love that.

Your sleep has been getting better better these days which makes me happy ;) the days we are off you are always sleeping in, you know what mama needs ;)

You are in size 4 diapers and in 12-18 clothes.

You are running around all over these days. Touching everything. Your favorite thing to do is walk around the dining room in circles giggling away. Ha! You love Zoe and always go pet her when she's around and you try to play ball with her but she doesn't get it.

We love you sooo much! Watching you learn and grow is soo amazing!

Cousin love

Yesterday night I babysat my nieces! It was fun. We were dancing and singing sipping juice and eating sweets haha.
It's soo fun watching my 2 year old niece play with Kristian. He looks up to her and follows her around haha. She was teaching him how to count and showing him the colors of the blocks. Kristian was copying everything she was doing. She was drinking juice so I gave him some too... He wouldn't put the sippy cup down and drank the whole thing.

I love that they are close in age and play together. They are adorable!!!

Christmas, family, gifts and fun!

We had a wonderful Christmas with our families. My grandmother is still in the hospital recovering but is doing so well.

Today we are shopping, relaxing and putting together all the fun toys baby K received.

Christmas is almost here!

Christmas is almost here! I am off until Thursday and I'm soo happy to be spending this time with my family.

Kristian received some gifts from daycare Friday. A picture of him in a frame and some goodies from his friends.

It's only been 2 days into the holiday and our schedule is already out the window. Up late and sleeping in!

Lots of fun to come the next couple days!

And great news, my grandmother is doing much much better! Thank you for your prayers. She has some recovery but she is on her way and is almost back to her normal self!

A week of ups and downs!

Whoa! This week was all over the place ! Tuesday I started a new job (well new dept in a place I worked at before) everyone there was soo happy to see me and it really felt nice that after a year and a half they were glad I was back!

Although I haven't been feeling myself! I've been sick with a cold/cough for the week! And so has baby K. Baby K had a fever of 39.5 today so we stayed home (insert stress here too for calling in sick to a new job) we both are on antibiotics and hopefully back to ourselves soon!

Yesterday we also had a big scare with my grandmother! She's 81 and last month she had a bad fall and hit her head. Since then she kept falling and was becoming weaker and weaker and unable to walk. My mom and aunt took her to the hospital and they did an emergency brain procedure on her because she had a blood clot of 3cm from the falls! We were terrified!!!! I went last night to hospital with my sister and cousins and the doctor explained the procedure to us. We felt better knowing exactly what they were going to do. The procedure was short and she is awake and talking today. We still don't know much details but we know she is doing well right now.

I'm exhausted! Life right now feels like a big mess and I'm really hoping things turn around soon!!

We are praying my grandmother is out for Christmas. And praying we are all healthy and can enjoy the holidays all together!!

With all this craziness happening. I am not done my Christmas shopping!

Hey Santa!

Yesterday we took little K to see Santa! We drove to a city just north of us to see him.

When he went on Santa's lap he was in shock haha! He didn't cry, but didn't smile either! He looked all around and wasn't to sure about it haha

12.12.12 our day

Last night I had 1 stretch of a 2 hour sleep so together I guess that adds up to the whole 12.12.12 day ha!

We had a horrible night!!!!
We tried the CIO method again and I did not feel good about it today at all!

Even baby K ended sleeping a 4 hour nap at daycare because he was exhausted!

I decided to scrap that method for now. I can't do it. My little one looking at me soo sad and today I was soo tired and our whole family was soo miserable.

So tonight I went with our other approach for now. We'll figure the rest out somehow.

Bath, book, cuddles and sleep.

Sleep training ups and downs

I was never one that thought I would do the CIO (cry it out method) I was totally against it the first year. I hear many moms that have done it and it has worked and also many that haven't and their kids sleep just fine.

My little one was never the good sleeper. From birth he would nurse every 2-4 hours and 1-2 during growth spurts. His sleep I would say is getting worse not better these days.

So we decided to finally try the CIO method. It was going sorta fine the first couple days. My husband started it and seems it works a little better with him than with me.

However, I noticed the past couple days a very needy baby. This was something I was afraid of when it came to CIO. Not all kids are the same. For the most part little K is pretty independent and not one to cry when I leave the room... But the past couple days he has been. He is afraid that we are leaving him... Exactly what I was afraid of! Who could blame him!

Last night when I placed him in his crib he would turn around quick to see if I was there. I would pat him, he would fall asleep and as soon as I started walking away he would wake up and freak!!! He was up until 130am doing this last night ;(

I have no problem with co-sleeping I always bring him in bed after the first stretches of sleep in his crib. But baby boy is desperate for comfort that he has been using me for comfort pulling my hair, getting up to snuggle closer wanting to nurse often... he keeps me awake!

;( I'm lost and don't know what to do now. Moms! What do I do! I'll continue a method a fellow twitter mom sent me and I'll see how it goes this week.
