Sleep training ups and downs

I was never one that thought I would do the CIO (cry it out method) I was totally against it the first year. I hear many moms that have done it and it has worked and also many that haven't and their kids sleep just fine.

My little one was never the good sleeper. From birth he would nurse every 2-4 hours and 1-2 during growth spurts. His sleep I would say is getting worse not better these days.

So we decided to finally try the CIO method. It was going sorta fine the first couple days. My husband started it and seems it works a little better with him than with me.

However, I noticed the past couple days a very needy baby. This was something I was afraid of when it came to CIO. Not all kids are the same. For the most part little K is pretty independent and not one to cry when I leave the room... But the past couple days he has been. He is afraid that we are leaving him... Exactly what I was afraid of! Who could blame him!

Last night when I placed him in his crib he would turn around quick to see if I was there. I would pat him, he would fall asleep and as soon as I started walking away he would wake up and freak!!! He was up until 130am doing this last night ;(

I have no problem with co-sleeping I always bring him in bed after the first stretches of sleep in his crib. But baby boy is desperate for comfort that he has been using me for comfort pulling my hair, getting up to snuggle closer wanting to nurse often... he keeps me awake!

;( I'm lost and don't know what to do now. Moms! What do I do! I'll continue a method a fellow twitter mom sent me and I'll see how it goes this week.

I'm exhausted and just want this cute little boy to sleeeeep!!

Did my baby poop?

These are the things that worry me these days haha. I'm now always making sure my little one is ok. Did he poop today? Is he eating and drinking enough? Did he sleep enough? Is he in pain!? All concerned mommy questions!

My little guy has been teething, his first tooth is making it's way out! Even though he was never been the greatest at sleep, teething has him up sooo much at night!

Yesterday wasn't too bad, but the night before he was up every hour!

He has been pretty cranky too, so I'm making sure he gets all his naps in during the day.

Weaning off Breastfeeding and sleep training is all on hold for now.

Today we went out to buy him some new toys. ;) hope it helps him feel better.

A beautiful Sunday

Sunday we had amazing weather!! And this week it will continue!

We went to the zoo in the park for a walk.

Baby K loved seeing the animals. He was concentrating on all the different sounds and scenery.

Spring is here! I'm excited to spend more days outdoors!

After Saturday night, being out 9 hours without nursing, I was in sooo much pain!! I had to pump many times during the day and finally I leveled it out. Yikes! I can't do that again. Not when I'm use to nursing every 2-3 hours!

Last night baby K slept soo well! I was sooo happy because I needed it! I didn't end up sleeping till 5am from the party the day before!

He slept a 4.5 hour stretch then 3, then another 3! happy mama!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Sleeping in the crib

Every parent has their own views on their children's sleep arrangements. I don't think any is wrong. I for one still have my 3 month old in my room in the bassinet and co-sleeping sometimes. My SIL didn't put my niece in her crib until 4 months, friends did as early as 2 months or right from birth, and some moms co-sleep for a while. All ok in my eyes. My little guy seems fine in his crib, so I guess you can say I have him in my room because I want him close!
Having him in my room right from birth made it easier for me to feed him or soothe him through the night. Slowly I'm transitioning him to his crib... Slowly haha! Mama can't let go!!
I received the Angel care video monitor as a gift. I must say a video monitor is great to have. Baby is in his room with the door closed (so miss kitty won't bother him) with a white noise ball, while I just blogged and going to do laundry ;) (they say no blankets on baby, but it's tucked under and I'm watching on the video monitor ;)
