I Love Broccoli!

I loveee Broccoli! But I only have 2 ways of cooking it. Boiling it, and adding salt and pepper.
And adding it to my famous Thai Coconut Curry Shrimp dish mmmm so good!

So I would LOVE to know other broccoli recipes. If you got any, please send them my way!


These are my new Salt and Pepper grinders. I bought them at Winners...Really I could just spend all my evenings at winners and that would make me so happy aaha! I was close tho, I've been there 3 times this week!
Like I said on Wednesday my exercise has not been going too well., BUT I have been walking ALOT! So I think that makes up for half of that.
However.... I just ruined my healthy day with THESE! I think I should head to the basement to workout!

Soooo Glad tomorrow is Friday! Yeah weekends!!!

CIAO!

Look at us good students! Italian classes began yesterday and it was so much fun! The teacher is coming to us and we are getting together at my moms house once a week. Tutorino.ca is the company we went with. Our teacher is from Naples. He is soo nice and funny and we had a great time laughing and learning!

Summer is here and there are MUCH more things to do. I'm SOOOO busy! I have not worked out at all! So tomorrow I need to sit down and re-do my weekly schedule! When things get hectic, I get a little crazy and the meltdowns begin! Soooo I'll need to get on that ASAP!

Also, work is really getting in the way of my eating ha! BUT It's true. I'm always in meetings or on different floors that I miss my snacks then get over the point of hungry which you know what that equals ---- crazy me and meltdowns! Seems like this is the story of my life these days! Crazy and meltdowns!No fun!!!!!

Tomorrow I'm heading to the doctors for my B12 shot, hopefully this gives me the energy I neeeed!



My mom came by with her dog tonight and Zoe just followed him around the whole house. They were good with each other it was cute.

Filling up on fruit!

We have been having beautiful weather and fresh fruit just goes so well with a sunny day!

I put together this bowl on Friday and have been grabbing a hand full whenever I feel like a snack. I Love having fruit at hand!

My weekend eating was pretty good, I tried to make the healthy choices with a few exceptions!... It's the weekend! One exception was dinner at a Colombian restaurant in our old neighborhood. We ordered yummy pupusas! MMMM!



Today was my day to run a million errands! While at the pet store we decided to buy Zoe a little gift. A water fountain bowl. I think she was impressed ahah!! She started biting at the flowing water and starred at it for a while before drinking. I hope she likes it, that way I can remove the cups of water I leave for her around the house ahah!

I got a little gift too this weekend. The below pic is not that great, but my mom put together a little pot of herbs for me. I think there are 4 or 5 different things in it, the only ones I remember her telling me was basil and cilantro ha! I'll have to ask her again what the others are.

Eating every 3 hours...

As soon as I came home after work I popped this whole meal in the oven for 35 mins while I did a workout in the basement. Baked chicken (with Jerk seasoning from Jamaica! Asparagus with a touch of salt, yukon potatoes and salad) Yum!

Although weight loss is high on my list to do's ahah!... So is my health. I'm learning a lot about my body and about the nutrients it needs also learning that limited food brings out the worst in me ahaha! My new focus is to ensure I'm eating enough, every 3 hours mainly and focusing on my workouts as well. Summer is here and there are more events to attend. So I will stick to the minimum 3 days a week working out and only add more workouts if I have the time. Oh and wear my easy tones as much as I can!

My job get's busy on some days but I'm going to really try and stick to eating every 3 hours. 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm (on way home from work small snack) 6pm dinner and 8pm(if I need to ha!)

While grocery shopping this weekend I decided to go higher %in the dark chocolate. I usually get 70%. Not a good idea. YUK! Talk about bitter and the feeling of crumbling powder in my mouth.
Are you a Dark chocolate lover? What percentage do you love? I need to keep it no higher than 70%! ahah!

Back on track after a long weekend...

Trying to get back on track today from a eating frenzy long weekend! I was too tired today and ended up eating leftovers, who can resist a bbq hotdog and pasta salad! eeee!


We had a fun long weekend full of visiting family and enjoying BBQ afternoons. The weather was amazing!

We had some guests over yesterday for a BBQ and Victoria day fireworks!

My sister/sister in law/me/neice in the pic above. Our other little neice in her belly! And will be joining our fun in August!
I actually got to hear the heart beat on the weekend too and felt her kicking! :)
The weekend was fun but busy! I ate wayy too much so decided not to step on the scale until next week haha!

Calorie counting


Like I mentioned before I use my Iphone app to track calories (My Fitness Pal) It can search pretty much everything you are looking for. It has helped a lot with counting my daily cals.

Another way to ensure you keep the calories in check, is using a measurement cup. I never use to do this, but there are some foods I'd like to enjoy and moderation is key. So measuring cup to the rescue!
I came home from work tonight a little bit stressed (ugh again!) and ALMOST ate out, but made sure to come straight home and make dinner!

Then I used the rest of my daily calories on a Strawberry Sundae ahah!

Workout Dvd's Update. Love the new total workout in 10. I did 10 minutes on Monday then 30 minutes yesterday. I wanted to get 10 minutes in today but I'm wayyy too exhausted and my legs are pretty sore!

So glad tomorrow is Thursday! We have a long weekend and I'm looking forward to relaxing!

Great weekend and new workout DVD's!

Hope you all had a good weekend! I know Zoe did ahhah! Such a little trouble maker!

I had a great weekend, it was relaxing and tried my best to keep the stress away!

I rocked my easy tones all weekend. I did all my errands with them on, cleaned the house with them on and even worked out with them on. I feel them working my thighs and tushy. So far so good!

At walmart they had a sale on workout DVD's. 2 for $10. So I bought 2 of them.

So far I tried the ten minute workout. I love it! Although I enjoyed the 30 day Shred as well I found that it would make me dizzy going up and down from lunges to laying down- doing abs then back up etc... This new 10 minute workout has 10min cardio, then 10 min lower bod then 10 min upper.. see below...
The 10 min cardio is a really good work out and it makes you sweat! All while standing up no laying down haha! My workouts are remaining as minimum 3x week and on days I'm not that busy i'll add in the 10 min cardio for a total 5 days when I can. :)


I'm adding some extras to my diet this week. Plenty of broccoli since it helps with increasing metabolism, plums that are rich in dietary fiber :) and pistachios which also contain lots of fiber.

Weekend equals play time!

Zoe must of known it was the weekend. She brought up her toys from the basement to play. ahahh!

I looked outside today and noticed my garden is almost fully bloomed! This brings a smile to my face. I love my backyard and just love my garden. If this weather would only get nicer I can enjoy more time out there!

The work week was extremely busy and extremely stressful for me. So I am glad the week is over!

Today I woke up refreshed and ready for a fun weekend!

I had sushi for lunch but we ate in for dinner :) BBQ chicken and veggies.
My diet was all over the place last week because of my stress, some days I did well others I totally indulged in all things bad :( Its such a struggle especially when stressed out!

So this weekend I decided to add some extra items to my list, to try and prevent over eating. I will post on that tomorrow.

Are you an emotional eater

I am!... an emotional eater that is. As I mentioned before on my blog, I've been getting monthly meltdowns. I've tracked them every month and have come to the conclusion that it has to do with the "women" thing ahah! I get angry, frustrated, emotional, extreme sleepiness all these to the highest peek all in a couple hours then the next day I'm drained tired moopy hating the world, it's true...Then it's gone, all better like nothing happened. WEIRD! Husband is getting scared away! I also find that when i eat more it makes me feel better, more things with more sugar more sale all the bad stuff. Such a horrible habit to have! Have any of my lady followers felt this before? It's only started happening for the last 4 months and pretty much at the same day every month. Trying not to make this post with TMI. ahahah! So I'll stop at that.

On to more happier news. My friend over at http://www.believinginserendipity.com/has both her nephews home. They had a rough start coming into this world but they fought their hardest and they are both home with their mommy and daddy finally! Praying so much for them! Go check out the pics of them, they are so cute!

Not a lazy Monday

Well maybe at work my day felt like Zoe's. But tonight I'm pumped! I almost ate fast food for dinner but when in the car my alarm went off reminding me it's a workout night...I thought, how could I ruin that with fast food YUK! No way! so I came home, shoved aside the laziness and made a healthy stirfry dinner :) Whew! Good thing for my 530pm alarm!

I'm wearing my easy tones in the house and will be working out soon for 30 mins today. Monday's and Wednesday's are my easy workouts because they are also my nights I work in my home office. (my new schedule allows me time for everything! ;)

Also, bloggy friend suggested I take my body measurement to track my results of wearing the easy tones. So I will do that this week. Great suggestion!


MMM Vanilla Pudding! Last night I made vanilla pudding and enough for the whole week. A little snack to add to my strawberries to change it up a little bit. YUM!
