My take on 21 Day fix!

My sister and I kept on talking about dropping that extra baby weight. She had friends that tried the 21 day fix and saw amazing results! I was skeptical at first but my sister convinced me to get it!

So we began our little journey.

We pinned the heck outta the 21 day fix recipes ha! Pinterest has everything you need for this program.

We did our first 21 days! (Without shakeology)

First week I found pretty easy... Second week was hard. I had cravings, may have caved a bit ha! I noticed that I ate way too many carbs and not enough protein. This program was the opposite, ha! I had to limit carbs and up the protein.

Eating clean was easy, just as long as I planned my meals. Weekends were tough because hey, it's summer and there's a lot of bbq's and a whole lotta wine around.

But the first 3 weeks I stuck to it with only a few tweaks and cheats.

My meals were very yummy and satisfying.

I had the whole family on it and everyone was on board and loved their meals.

The workouts are pretty good. Easy to follow.

I actually ordered the extreme by accident but the regular program dvd's were shipped quick!

I felt great! I had more energy. And in total lost 12lbs.

Finally breaking the plateau I had for months! I lost all the baby weight I gained from baby M. I'm down a total of 45lbs from giving birth to my little guy, in 10 months! I think chasing 2 kiddies helped speed this up.

My goal is to lose another 10-15lbs to get me to pre-preg little K! Ha!

What I like best about the 21 day fix is the mindful eating. I'm paying attention to what I eat now. Even when I cheat, I take note. Before this program, I did a lot of mindless eating. Grazing, eating kids left overs or snacking all day. I wasn't drinking enough water either.

I wanted a lifestyle change. This program is perfect in helping me achieve that.

Working out to dvd's daily, is not my thing. Busy days and 2 kids. That's impossible right now. However getting in a workout 2-3x a week I can totally make time for.

That's my take on the 21 day fix :)

I always say that ALL diets/programs work as long as you follow it. That's why I'm taking all that I've learned from 21 day fix and making it work for me and my lifestyle - with treats included.

Getting back on track...again.

Sigh. Watch my diet... Don't watch my diet... Watch... Don't watch... Ughh

I'm getting back on track! Again!

Since I started work I've been buying lunch pretty much every single day! I have been choosing healthier choices but many of the choices involve bread and more bread that I do not need. When selling our home we had to be out of the house a lot. Eating out a lot! We do enjoy going to restaurants as a family but I definitely need to keep my goals in mind!

So today I made a yummy grilled chicken salad for today's dinner and tomorrow's lunch!
All organic veggies! Yum!

I have a 20lbs weight loss goal I want to achieve by the new year! My last 20lbs of baby weight. I have more than one reason why I neeeed to achieve this goal by the new year! So hopefully all those reasons push me along!

Some diet changes that started today!
Only 1 coffee no sugar a day
Water water and more water
Cut as many carbs and sugars as I can!
Portion control, especially at dinner.
2xweek workouts (I know this should be more, but it's hard to find the time!!! So I'll continue with 2x)

Target areas: hips and thighs

Project let's get fit is on!

Me 7 years ago! Ohhhh how I want that body back! Ha! I remember trying to lose 20lbs that time too. Sigh.

Beautiful fall days

Who doesn't like fall! The weather is soo nice!

Yesterday we played in the backyard and Kristian as usual is fascinated with Mother Nature. He was picking up leaves, smelling the flowers, listening to the leaves rustling in the wind. He loves being ouseye (outside) as he says it.

Minus the smiley cookies we had ;) we also are getting back to healthy juicing. We stopped for no reason the last couple weeks.

But even though we love fall, we don't love flu season. So getting those extra nutrients is so important!

I made one juice for Kris and made another juice for myself but I ended up mixing the 2 for me ha!

Out usual that Kris loves:
Bunch of kale
1 carrot
1 apple

I give him half juice mixed with half water.

So I poured the rest in with the juice I made.

2 celery stalks
1 carrot
And a bunch of parsley.

I wasn't a fan of the celery in my juice. So I won't be doing that juice any time soon ha!

Packing snacks for my toddler

When it's time to head out I gather a bunch of snacks and baby k's water sippy cup and head out.

What does my toddler love to snack on?

Other than the usual cheesy puffs, goldfish and cheese strings. I like to make little baggies or containers of his favorite fruits and veggies. I have them packed in the fridge ready to grab. Things like sweet pepper sticks, blueberries, cucumber. and throw in a banana or 2 sometimes too.

Easy and convenient!
