Stroller fitness

Now that the weather is nicer I decided to join a stroller fitness class in a nearby park.

Last week was the first class. Boy was I in pain for a couple of days!

Cardio, strength training and Pilates combined.

The workout is amazing! Last week was pretty tough. So I'm afraid for this weeks class ha! The park is beautiful though. A really nice trail and a lot of hills, right by a little river.

I currently have my trunk packed with strollers. Regular stroller and my jogging stroller.

Now to get my diet right! I am not doing anything extreme. I'm making small changes in my diet. Like no white breads, snacking on healthy foods like fruits and veggies. But with summer and tons of events with delicious foods, I need to practice portion control more than anything.

My first weightless goal, is to drop 20!

My jeans fit!

That's right. My pre-preg jeans fit! A little snug but they zip and button with no problem! I still have a lot of weight to lose but this definitely made me more motivated! My body is different after baby 2, so that I accept. I am making lifestyle changes to reach my goal.

I saw a picture of a woman on facebook the other day of her post partum belly after 1 month and she was saying that her belly was still big and upset about it.

It's sad that we expect our bodies to bounce back so quickly after we have a baby. It happens for some women but for some of us it takes more work. My tummy was never the same after baby 1!

I can say that 7 months post partum my body is finally feeling somewhat normal again. It takes time! We are all different too. I don't drop weight quickly, it takes work, and with 2 kids, I am still trying to find a balance that includes me time.

We recently bought a playpen for the basement so baby M can play while I get some workouts in.

With our family of 4 now we are pretty busy! So I'm always looking for fast and  easy meals that don't require too much work!

I blogged about my pressure cooker before, because I absolutely love it.

One pot meals in 10-30mins makes for fast meals and fast clean up!

Yesterday we made chili tacos.

Little k loves chilli, he had 2 bowls full!

The other night I made honduran meal called baleadas. Mmm! Soo good
I'm making a easy recipe booklet for myself ha!

So far it looks like baby m is a great eater
Feeding himself sweet potato!

These kids are growing so fast!
Baby M is lifting himself to stand!

Ha ️adorable!

Yesterday we got our new suv! Little k was so excited, he was waiting for daddy to get home. Once he arrived we went for a ride and both kids fell asleep ha! It was a peaceful ride.

I can't wait for the weekend. We are finally getting some nicer weather!

Have a great week friends!

Getting back on track...again.

Sigh. Watch my diet... Don't watch my diet... Watch... Don't watch... Ughh

I'm getting back on track! Again!

Since I started work I've been buying lunch pretty much every single day! I have been choosing healthier choices but many of the choices involve bread and more bread that I do not need. When selling our home we had to be out of the house a lot. Eating out a lot! We do enjoy going to restaurants as a family but I definitely need to keep my goals in mind!

So today I made a yummy grilled chicken salad for today's dinner and tomorrow's lunch!
All organic veggies! Yum!

I have a 20lbs weight loss goal I want to achieve by the new year! My last 20lbs of baby weight. I have more than one reason why I neeeed to achieve this goal by the new year! So hopefully all those reasons push me along!

Some diet changes that started today!
Only 1 coffee no sugar a day
Water water and more water
Cut as many carbs and sugars as I can!
Portion control, especially at dinner.
2xweek workouts (I know this should be more, but it's hard to find the time!!! So I'll continue with 2x)

Target areas: hips and thighs

Project let's get fit is on!

Me 7 years ago! Ohhhh how I want that body back! Ha! I remember trying to lose 20lbs that time too. Sigh.

Jogging stroller success

My little toddler has his days where there is no way he will sit in the stroller longer than 5 minutes.

I was considering selling my jogging stroller since it was hardly being used for months now!

But this week alone I got in 3 jogs! Jogging/power walking to parks a little further away. We stop at the park and play which is perfect because I don't feel guilty about making it only about me. We play in the park then jog back home. Perfect!

I'm not sure how long this will last but I will try and make a routine of it!

This mama has 20lbs to drop!

2013 goals vision board!

2013 goals... I still haven't fully written them out. I usually do every first week of January, I've been doing that for years! But this year all 22 days of it has been so hectic.

I looked over my last years goals and I have achieved 5 of goals I wrote down. Which made me feel great. Yay!

Instead of writing my goals this year I decided that I will put my goals with pictures on my vision board. That way I can take a look at them everyday! I'm getting to work on that today!

One goal that I will discuss weekly on my blog is weight loss goals. Daily lifestyle changes/goals.

Life is different with a little one, more busy, less sleep, less time for things like working out. Balancing it all can get a little crazy and you always need room to tweak and adjust the routine because let's face it the baby makes the rules here ha!

Here are my simply put daily goals:

Eating healthy- home cooking
Adding things like daily probiotics, chia seeds, and cooking with coconut oil and olive oil.

Juicing weekly for added nutrients
Exercise 2-3x a week
Increase daily water intake.

Mini goal- to drop 10lbs by spring.

Seems easy enough right ;)

Fitness Friday!

I tracked my calories this week on my fitness pal. I actually only met my goal a few times this week. It's been tough sticking to the calories I should be eating. Especially with Breastfeeding I find myself sooo hungry!

I think I did well with daily exercise, lots of walking and holding baby while doing some squats haha. I didn't to my exercise DVD but I ordered a new one so can't wait for it to come.

I haven't stepped on the scale since earlier this week, I was down 1lbs. Hoping to be down another by next week.

This weeks goal, move everyday!!

2012 fitness goals

I've lost 1 pound since last week which brings me to 11 pounds to get to my first goal.

Today I ordered a new baby and mom fitness DVD!

I also registered for Salsa babies to begin February (salsa babies is a salsa dance class while baby is strapped to you).

And I also registered for stroller fitness in April with my friend over at

As baby K gets older I also want to enroll him in baby classes so he can socialize with other babies too.

I want to make weight loss fun and I think I found what will make it fun for me in 2012!

I'm excited to start my classes with this cute little boy!

Fitness Friday!

A fellow new mom Cait over at The Blessed life is doing a Fitness Friday Link up! So I decided to join in!

I have 12lbs to get to my pre-pregnancy weight, but 23lbs in total to get to my first goal that I want to hit.

I also want to get strong again, my back has been very weak these days.

I lost a total of 27lbs in 10 weeks which is awesome. I'm EBF so I read that it can burn up to 500 calories a day. However I am ALWAYS hungry and over eating because of it :(

So it's the new year and I have LOTS of occasions coming up so getting strong, healthy and weight-loss is what I am focused on.

I will be following the weekly goals that the blessed life has made along with my own.

Working out 3x a week. This will include
1. Baby and Mom exercise while baby is in the baby bjorn carrier. Squats, Lunges, Walking.
2. work out DVD while baby naps
3. Walking with baby in the stroller.
4. counting calories on MyFitnessPal
5. I am also going to join Mom and Baby Salsa in February!

Week 1: Track Calories... I'm on it!

I'm excited! Lets Shed these pounds! Are you?

Quick Weight loss update

I haven't been focused on my weight at all the past month... My little boy has my full on attention ;)
However my scale is going down on it's own, yay! So far I've lost 23lbs so that means only 16lbs to lose to get to my pre-preg weight but 27lbs in total to lose to get to my goal.

January I will get focused ;)

Yesterday I had my 6 week doctor appointment. Everything went well! Yay!

This month is looking soo busy! Lots of visits and shopping and Christmas time! I'm going to enjoy the holidays and enjoy my precious little man. I love him soo much! I look at him and can't believe he grew inside me. Amazing feeling. I love being baby K's mom ;)

Baby, Christmas, Shopping and other random stuff

I could easily make more than one blog post with all the babbling I will do today, but since time is not my friend (ha) I decided to make one long babbling post. :)

Baby K is too adorable! Today we did some tummy time activities and I also rattled some toys and had a conversation with him.. His response was in cooing so I know he was agreeing with everything I said Ha!

We also had an afternoon play date at a friends house up the street. She ordered wings and fries and they were delish! We were chatting so much we forgot to take pictures!

Little K does not like the swing or the bouncer at all! he lasts 5 minutes in it, he rather be held or in his napper in the playpen. We'll keep trying tho.

There are only a couple hours a day that he enjoys being in the wrap, which is good for me cause I get to make myself food for lunch!

I'm down 21 lbs, 18 lbs left to get to my pre-preg weight, but 34lbs to get to my goal. I'll be focused more after the holidays.  Although right now it is tough to eat, being so busy. I started making wraps filled with lots of good stuff,  to make sure I'm getting lots of good nutrients for breastfeeding.
Chicken, lettuce mix, and avocado, yum!
During pregnancy my foot size whet up from 7.5 to a 9! So far it's pretty much the same, just not swollen haha.  I had these new boots from last year and they don't fit! :(

So yesterday I did some online shopping. I bought 2 pairs of boots! They should get here tomorrow or monday.... they better fit!! There are soo many things I need for this winter! A winter jacket, sweaters... ugh!

I feel like I hardly have any time for anything these days, my days feel like 1 very long day. Everyday is pretty much exactly the same! Some days are better than others... Baby K sleeps 2-4 hour stretches after nursing, so at night I'm sleeping as soon as he is. :)

We are hoping to put the tree up this weekend. For now I put decorations around the house and put up the stockings... I put 3 up so it wouldn't look to bare.

I'm so excited for Christmas... But I do have a huge list for Christmas shopping! I need to get started!

Have you started your shopping!??

Lactation nurse, weight loss and more

Thursday ramblings ...

Tuesday we went to a lactation nurse for help with breast- feeding. She gave me great tips. She told me what to look for when baby is sucking. Example 1-3 sucks and a swallow is a good sign. 4 or more sucks means he is working a little too hard and time to switch to the other. She also told me to pump in between feedings so if baby needs a top up, I use breast-milk. I was doing really well and was soo happy. But last night baby K wasn't latching. It was like he kept sliding off. So I pumped and I also gave 3oz of formula. This morning is better so fingers crossed! Breast-feeding is sooo challenging!

K also had a bad tummy ache. He was crying a lot! :( must have been something I ate that hurt his tummy.

I massaged his belly and did leg exercises. Today he seems better.

Baby K is almost 2 weeks old! Time is going by sooo fast!!
Can you see that grey mark in the crease of his foot... It's called a Mongolian spot. Neat huh! Very common in East Asians and Native Americans. I'm Italian background and husband was born in Honduras.

Christmas is around the corner and I think I will start decorating! Baby K's stocking has been ordered!

zoe is not impressed by baby K, he cries and I hold him and she just stares and me all day long lol

Weight-loss - So far I dropped 15lbs whoohoo but I need 40 to go to get to my goal weight. I'm not diving into any weight-loss program just yet, all my focus is on my little newborn.  In a couple months I will. :)

Down 2.5 lbs!

Last week went great great! I followed my goals with counting my calories, eating at home during the week and exercising, so yesterday mornings weigh in, I was down 2.5lbs!

I'm being much more attentive with eating out as well (because we love going out for dinner on the weekends!) So Friday night my husband wanted to go for a lobster dinner. I skipped the rice that is came with and I also skipped dipping the lobster in the butter. So I saved some calories there! And still enjoyed this yummy lobster!

Yesterday morning we woke up to all this snow! So what a perfect day to try HOT YOGA! HA! Let me just say WOW! It was HOT!
It felt great! Although the truth is, it was a little intimidating with all the VERY fit women doing all the poses correctly and there I was full figured falling around and not being able to do the full 1.5 hours HA! I wore a tank top and yoga capri's I was soaked with sweat right through my bra! I'm not good with hydrating myself so of course I didnt drink enough water as I should have and that caused my day to be a little off with a massive headache. I also had killer lower back pain (oh boy!)

I will definitely be going again. I need to look at their schedule to find a shorter class, 1.5 hours was wayyy to much for this beginner!
This week we are planning our trip to San Francisco for February! I'm really excited! My husband and I have a tradition of going to buy a travel book of where we are going when we plan trips, so we did that yesterday. I know some of my followers live there or have visited so any suggestions you have just let me know! :)

Hope you are all having a great weekend. How are your weight loss goals coming along???

This weeks Goals I will follow:
*1500 Calories/day
* Tracking calories on Iphone "my fitness pal app"
*Drink lots of water everyday! A MUST!
* 3 bite rule on sweets or no sweets at all!!!
* 3 different workouts this week (Fitness DVD/Gazelle/Gym)

Weekend of lots of eating..Oh dear

Look what my sister made for me Saturday could I resist! My sister is such a good little baker!
My birthday weekend was fun but it was filled with a lot of eating! Going wayyy over my daily calories!

Friday night we went out for Thai dinner. We went to this place in our old area. It brought back so many good memories. We use to come here all the time just after we got married. We would talk about our goals and plans so much at this place, so it felt great to be there.
I had my favorite, Coconut red curry shrimp and veggies.. Yum!
Look what I got too! As a gift from my cousins... Word art!!!!! I just love word art! (you all know that!) Can't wait to put it up! I have the perfect place for these in my bedroom!

Friday night we planned to go watch Eat Pray Love but we were so tired after our dinner and decided to come home and relax so tonight we are hoping to head out to the movies and watch it. Can't wait!!!

AND this week I need to REALLY I mean REALLY focus on my weight loss goals! I desperately want to drop 10lbs soon! Pictures don't lie and so far I'm not liking what I see!

Oh boy so busy!

I've been sooo busy! like I already mentioned before ahah! But geez I'm non stop! Although I I'm not complaining at all...I really don't mind having the busy schedule. I'm doing all things that I love to do after work...However my Iphone issue last week erased my calendar! It totally messed up my schedule. I actually forgot some things to do yesterday and today.

With my busy schedule I'm trying really hard to follow my goals that I'm setting. So far I'm not doing too bad! Although I'm counting cals I still have been eating out once and while because we just have not been home.

The good news! I lost 3lbs! Not much and still in the 150's but I feel good and I feel healthy so I'm happy! Now just to fit back into my clothes I'll be more happy! (It's amazing how much my body changed in those 2 months) I have 4lbs more to get to pre-preg weight then 10lbs more to get to my goal weight a total of 14lbs to go!

Tomorrow I have a follow up doctors appointment, I have no concerns, so it should be quick! (hopefully she doesn't get upset with my weight gain)

This weeks Goals:
*Smoothie Breakfasts (loving this!)
*Only 1 coffee a day (hard but trying!)
*1500 Calories/day (trying trying)
* Tracking calories on Iphone "my fitness pal app"
*Drink lots of water everyday! A MUST!
* 3 bite rule on sweets
* 3 workouts a weeks

Now I'm off to read some blogs then off to bed! Good Night!
