Birthday fun

This past weekend was my husbands birthday. Friday night we had fun downtown.

My mom was babysitting little k and my niece. They love playing with eachother.

Haha cuties.

Saturday we had a party at our place. Lots of food and lots of wine ha! Eek!

It was my nieces birthday too so we had double the cake!

The week started off a little slow because we are super tired from the weekend! Is it Friday yet!

Valentines/family day weekend

Today is family day! A day off we have to enjoy time with our loved ones. Friday was Valentines day so it was nice that we had a long weekend!

Little k made us a cute little card and plant. My husband bought me a Tiffany necklace and we enjoyed a dinner in Friday night.

We all slept in everyday this weekend. It was soo nice.

We also went to pick some cabinets and tiles for the new house. We have some good ideas but haven't made our final desicion just yet.

Hopefully we will decide by next week!

It's been hard finding time to blog. Our new routine is now just our routine, but some things like watching TV and blogging have been put on the back burner. In the end, these things take time. Time I don't have much of. When I'm trying to fit in so much in my day after 5pm, not having these 2 things part of it actually has me with that little bit of quiet time at the end of the day. But I love my blog and love blogging our life. So I will try and make more time for it! ;) there are many milestones I don't want to miss!

There are some new things in our lives that are taking up our time. Things like potty training!

Little k understands what his potty is for. We sit him on it every night before bath time. We still have a long way to go :) but in baby steps we are doing well!

...Things like family time and date nights! Take up our time :)

And the biggest thing taking up our time right now is a new home! We decided to buy a new home to be built in November! So we have been doing a lot of running around choosing all the things that we want in this new home.

With this also comes decluttering and staging of our current home to sell. I'll blog about that one day too! Ha!

My goal is to blog at least once a week! Starting now!

Busy days!

I have less time to blog these days. Back to work has us soo busy!

It's 930pm and I made myself give some of my time to my blog!

Our routine is pretty smooth, mornings and evenings. Just that evenings are jammed packed doing one thing after another without a break all the way till bedtime. I'm starting to do my groceries online and getting them delivered so that will take out one thing from our schedule. So far that's working out great!

Oh and slowcooker meals! That wil be another post. I love love my slowcooker. Today, ham and pineapple. Tomorrow beef stew!

We are also fitting in 2 nights a week of working out in the basement once the little one is sleeping. Usually a half hour or so while I watch one of the shows I like, like modern family or revenge! Other than that there's not much time left to sit and watch TV!

What is my little man up to these days?

He loves daycare and is so happy to go every morning which makes all 3 of us super happy!

He is learning and growing so fast! His vocabulary is getting better and better. He surprises me everyday! He knows a lot of shapes, colors, numbers and letters. He sings songs to us, he is always busy playing and learning. I love how he always practices until he gets it. He doesn't give up! And in no way could we offer our help either! He's mr independent.

I love how we have conversations together. I love the conversations that have words, actions and sounds. Like the other morning we came down for breakfast and he was telling me the story of how he and baby Ella had cereal together the night before. The story went something like this. "Mama! Ella, krishan eat cereal here (pointing to the cereal bowl on the table where they sat the night before sharing cereal) Ella um um" (making a chewing gesture with his mouth, saying Ella ate the cereal like that haha)

Ha! It was adorable.

This weekend we went to visit my grandparents. Little k was showing my grandmother how to use his toy helicopter. Ha! They both had a blast playing together.

Back to work and date night

Last week was my first week back to work! I'm happy to say it went pretty smooth. We still need to adjust our new routine a bit, but we did well for the first week. We were proud of ourselves ha.

Little K was great all week with his new full-time at daycare schedule (good as in good for a 2 year old minus the terrible twos moments we have daily)

Yesterday night my husband took me to a deliscious steakhouse to celebrate my first week back to work. We had a great time. The service at the restsurant was amazing, actually the best overal experience at a restaurant I've ever had. They even took us for a tour to the different floors the restsurant had to show us what it was all about. We sat in its lower level dining room where the ambiance was perfect, music, candle light, comfortable seating. Perfect.

We have been following a top 10 steakhouse list and this was the forth one we've been to and the best so far. I'm excited to try another one next month!

Some 2014 goals

I have a long list of goals for 2014. I haven't sorted them all out just yet. I'm kinda overwhelmed with my list too.

The simple yearly ones are things like:

Drop 20lbs or more! Which included weekly working out and healthy diet choices.

Attend mass more often

Be more organized

Be more focused on what I want

Do what makes me happy. Whatever that may be :)

Spend more time with my family now that I'm going back to work Monday!

Others include

Potty train K this year!

Sell the house this spring and move!

Join a meditation class.

And some other personal and financial goals I have too. I'll be working on my vision board soon too.

2013 I was blessed to have stayed home an extra year with my little guy. He has taught me so much this year. Watching him grow and learn new things these past two years of him in my life has been the best years of my life. He makes my world complete, I loveeee my little guy and seeing him so independent these days makes me proud yet sad at how fast he really is growing up.

Tomorrow I'm back to work full-time and little K loves his daycare.

The husband and I have a new routine schedule of drop off and pick up and I'm hoping it all goes smoothly! Wish us luck!

The one thing about back to work that was exciting was shopping for new clothes! I spent a lot more than I expected but hey, it's a new year, new job, new goals, new everything ;)

I bought 3 pairs of pants, 3 skirts, 8 tops, 3 sweaters, 1 pair of shoes. Whoo!

Tamale fun!

My inlaws have a tradition of making Tamales for the New Year. I have helped many times before but this past weekend was little K's first time helping.

My Mother inlaw prepared all the ingredients, which I'll need to steal from her one day soon! Together we all made a little assembly line to put them together.
