My boy is growing up fast!

Whenever baby K does something new it's soo amazing to me. He's growing up soo fast!

He has the biggest smile and laugh and loves being around everyone!

Yesterday we had a playdate with my little niece. They are too sweet together. They played for hours and had soo much fun! As soon as she walked in he was bringing her to his toys especially his dancing Mickey Mouse his favorite toy!

We've been doing a lot of running around these days and he points out things that are familiar. We walked by shoes today and right away he pointed and said shoes! While lifting his foot up ha! Anytime he sees a apple whether on TV, in a book or at the grocery store he will yell Aaaaaapple! Ahh I can't take this cuteness! P He is learning more and more word and he's repeating a lot these days so we need to be careful what we say around him ;)

Baby K also knows how to work the iPhone to put music on to dance to, watch videos in my camera roll, slide thru and take pics too ha! Oh and he will open my phone and respond to a text haha. While out to dinner tonight my iPhone was his entertainment and I found so many pics he took while there, one pic below of his face.

Tonight baby k and I went for wings with my sister. She's 38 week preggo and waddling around ;)

My sister is due soon and she's having a girl. That gives me 3 nieces! Lots of pink and bows haha!

A little late but a weekend recap with pics below :)

Daylight saving time has our schedule out of whack. Everything is later. Sleeping in, later naps and later bedtime. I'm not sure how to move it all back up an hour. Hmm!

Over the weekend we did a lot of running around visiting family. My BIL got a little kitten which is soooooooo adorable!!! Baby K wanted to squeeze it ha!

I also spent a couple hours at the hospital with my aunt while DH babysat. she's doing better everyday and we are praying for her everyday! Hope she can get out and home soon!

Some new toys

I finally got a new phone, I've been wanting the iPhone 5 for a little while now. I'm excited to have better and clearer pics and more space on my phone! I pretty much blog with the blogger app 95% of the time so this is great for me. Now if I can just come out of my blogging block that I've had lately then I will be good to go ha!

This morning we did a little shopping. Every time I go out I come back with something for baby K, whether it be clothes or toys or treats, something!

Today I bought a little BBQ set, Lol Elmo and a bucket set for the sand. I'm getting ready for Spring haha.

I have my eye on many backyard toys for baby K, and I'm excited to set up a little playground. So I will be on the hunt for some deals!

A little Spring Cleaning

I've been a little MIA lately. Just a lot going on these days. I have a lot if things I wanted to blog about but just haven't had the motivation to do it!

Little K is teething and the past 2 days he has been irritable during the day. Today he seems a lot better, fingers crossed! I give Camilla teething drops when he is fussy. And Tylenol as well. Teething is no fun!

I've been starting to do a little spring cleaning too. My spring list of wants is pretty long! Eek! Sunglasses, shoes, spring clothes, purses, house items, backyard items and baby backyard toys too haha

I'm also starting a new workout schedule and hope to shed these unwanted pounds!

What's on your list of wants for spring?

16 months old

Oh baby K you are 16 months old! You are such a sweet little boy and totally crack me up! You love to be silly and you are very affectionate, always kissing and hugging us. Unless we say no, you will get upset and hit us :/

Everyday you do something new. It's always amazing to me because you pay close attention and copy the things we do without us even knowing! You learned another word last week. We call the pacifier a chucho and you call it tutto. You say about 10 words and lots of babbles that mean something to you! Haha

You have 9 teeth, 7 front teeth and 2 molars and another front tooth on its way!

You still love to eat and you turn and look and point at the sink where I prepare food if you want more. Usually looking for a fruit after dinner or your baby crunchies. You are using a fork more often now but using your hands is much faster.

You are in between sizes right now. Some 12-18 fitting snug and 18-24 way too big.

You love your stride rite shoes and I already have my eye on spring summer ones for you haha!

Your sleep is still great too. Taking 2 naps 1.5-2 hours each and 10- 12 hours a night. Depending if we are home or out late. You only wake for water if I have you in bed early, you will wake before 12am for a sip then sleep straight till 8 or 9am.

You still love to play with my hair. It comforts you.

You love Zoe and get braver and braver with playing with her haha. You are a dancer like your daddy haha you dance as soon as you hear music and love it. You love when I read to you and you always bring me books and point at it so I can read ;)

Today we played in the snow and had soo much fun!

Weekend birthday fun

This weekend was all about birthdays! Lots of food and a lot of cake!

Friday was my husband and niece's birthday!

We had family over Friday night. I lost all my picture because at the end of the night my memory card from my camera broke and I lost everything :( BUT! I have this. After many bottles of wine hahaha watch this

Saturday night we went over my brother place for my niece's birthday. The kids had so much fun together.

The guys were watching hockey and yelled super loud when Toronto maple leafs scored.... Baby K got startled and cried really hard. He hugged me tight and took him about 20 minutes to stop sobbing :( it was the worst I've seen him cry. He was sooo upset :(

Wordless Wednesday

Baby led weaning at 15 months. No more breastfeeding

When people ask me about breastfeeding I always say the same thing... it was sooo hard to start and soo hard to stop. Women need support, the only way I was able to push through and keep trying was from support from other moms. I wrote this blog post a while back. Weaning was soo hard  too. When I first tried weaning baby k he was about 9 months. I was forcing the weaning because I was going back to work..(to be clear baby k never took a bottle so pumping and giving a bottle was never an option) at 9 months he wasn't ready. We both weren't ready. It was really stressful on both of us. So I pushed my back to work date further out. Baby K at 9-10 months started the pincer grasp and feeding himself and was eating all his meals and less breast milk and onto the sippy cup. By 12 months he was daytime weaned. I still breastfed at night at first 2-3x then went to 2, then 1. Now last week to zero! Baby k is 15.5 months and with baby led weaning we are no longer breastfeeding. It was almost a surprise to me even though I was living it at seeing how much less he was needing it. When we were down to one time I was actually only offering one breast once a night for a couple weeks. Then that stopped too. We were not trying to wean, so I am happy that it was all baby k's choice. I just keep remembering the beginning when baby K was just born and trying to get to 3 months and at 15 months I wasn't looking for us to stop yet and little K was ready to move on.

Following my baby's queues and never forcing my ways on him has worked best for me and my parenting style. They eventually get it! They eventually learn how to sip the sippy cup, eventually learn to feed themselves, and eventually sleep through the night and eventually stop breastfeeding. At 15.5 month I actually feel that all the decisions I made so far worked best for our family and I'm not second guessing myself like I once was. I had some tough times and went against my initial instincts many times, parenthood is far from easy  and sometimes no decision is easy to make haha but if we can trust our decisions then that can take a load of stress off.

So moms do it your way, whatever way as long as you feel it's the best way and maybe it won't be at first but it will be eventually! Ha! I will need to come back and read my own words in future days I'm sure!

Valentine's Day!

We had a great Valentine's Day and Evening here :)

The day started with my little Valentine. Baby K loves to kiss and hug me and it is the most precious thing! It just melts my heart!

I served a heart shaped lunch with V day cookies.

We did some fun V day art too.

My husband picked up dinner on his way home and we had a nice dinner with a nice bottle or 2 (ha!) of wine and music in the background. A perfect valentines evening for our little family.
