Back on track....

I hope to get back on track this weekend!
This week I was sick with a bad tummy ache :( I don't know what it is but I have a feeling my insides are a little upset with me....
In SF I over drank on Starbucks... There's a starbucks on every corner! I love starbucks, but too many lattes WILL make you feel yucky!
I did not choose the healthiest meals either.

And the night before we left we met some great people at a bar and had a little to much to drink.
Tuesday and Wednesday I was having the worst belly aches. Like fire in my stomach. :( I went for a ultrasound and I'm waiting for the results. I hope it was just a bad tummy ache but I am feeling better in my tummy but still feel ill (tired, headaches and backache too now) I'm also feeling irritable since I'm not eating as much as I usually do ahah! I forced food in anyway even with the pain! (I could never starve myself even with killer tummy pain, I get upset that I can't eat a full meal ha!)

I am drinking lots of water and no coffee for me until I get my results back.

So I hope to revamp my schedule this weekend and get back on track! Time to get healthy inside and out!

San Francisco Trip 2011

Our San Francisco trip was tooo short! But we managed to do a lot! We walked a lot and had a blast eating at some yummy restaurants and sight seeing!




We saw the Golden Gate Bridge and spent a couple hours in Sausalito. Sausalito is so nice, we loved walking around and going in the little shops. It's such a peaceful place.
We walked down Lombard Ave and down to Fishermans Wharf. (A couple of times, my calves are still sore!)
I got to see Alamo park and the 6 ladie(Yes, this is a part of where full house opening scene was filmed :)
We bought a 3 day $20 pass for the cable cars. I love these! But I admit I rather be sitting, I was a little scared having my butt out there ahah!

We also took a tour to Golden Gate Park. It is BEAUTIFUL THERE! San Francisco's largest park and I'm sure one of the most beautiful. We walked for hours talking about our goals and future plans :) we almost were late for our pick up ahahh! We broke our camera in the park too, trying to take a couples pic on timer. It fell off the ledge it was on and the lens broke :(

We went to the Science Centre too. San Francisco has the largest Planetarium. I LOVE Planetariums. I have such great memories of going to the Toronto one when I was a kid. So I HAD to go!
Our food of choice... Clam Chowder Bread Bowls! We tried a couple restaurants by the pier and they all had yummy fresh fish and seafood. Great places to eat at Fishermans Wharf.

We stayed at Hotel Union Square - A personality Hotel and it was really nice. I loved our room. It was in the heart of Union Square in the middle of all the shops! The first day there I bought the jacket I'm wearing at H & M. The one I brought from Toronto was too warm!


The weather was nice, a little rain but heck it's winter right! (Toronto it's snowy and -20 degrees Celsius!) So I'll take the little drizzle thanks! ahaha!

There is so much to see and do in San Francisco. I wish we were there for a couple days longer! But I'll be back!

2011 - 3 week goal re-cap

Now that we ended week 3 in January I just wanted to re-cap my 2011 goals.
So far we have booked our first trip for 2011 and SF trip is coming up soon! I have been sticking to my workouts, tried hot yoga (and plan to register soon) I did really well with calorie counting up until the last couple days I cheated a LOTTTT. AND I failed in my no pop and burger rule this week. But I'm very impressed at how long I held out. I'll try again beginning tomorrow. We also started on our reno's and boy it's been messy around here!

Of course, where we are, Zoe is. She is a very involved cat. If she's not around it means 2 things, she's feeling sick, or we locked her in a closet or bedroom by accident ahhah! As we were working yesterday she got up on the ladder and it was so cute! With all the sanding dust around she will be needing a bath very soon!
Yesterday we went to a friends place for dinner. She made this yummy shrimp bisque! She'll be giving me the recipe tomorrow.

And my sister made this brownie cheese cake....I asked for a big piece... eek!


Since I started my goals I've been following my rule of making BF at home and bringing lunch. I bought a new lunch bag last week. It's bigger. I find I'm not bringing enough snacks and I hate driving home from work starved. So I need to bring enough food for lunch and 2 snacks while at work. I always seem to forget this from time to time, I need my snacks!

Back to 2 coffee's!

I was doing soo well in late 2010 with drinking on 1 coffee a day. But the past 2 weeks I've been slowly creeping up to 2 coffees a few days a week. Then yesterday I had 2, and then today I had 2! I need to get back to drinking my tea in the afternoon instead of coffees!

At my bff's baby shower I won this tea mug with a diffuser and some loose tea. I love it!

So I hope tomorrow is a better day. I'll try and get back to 1 coffee a day!

Reno update:
My dining room will look like this until next week.

It's a little hectic! And our San Francisco trip is coming up soon too!!!! I hope the reno's are over before we leave.

The weather here is cold and icy and snowy! So I'm trying to really figure out what to wear on our trip early Feb since weather in SF will be much better than it is here!

Busy weekend! Lots of pics!

I had a veryyyyy busy weekend! Let me start with a big FAIL in my calories this weekend. I didn't count calories at all and didn't make the best choices. I didn't even get to grocery shop. So I'll do that tomorrow!

We started some reno's in the house... I was expecting a mess....but not the HUGE mess that I got! The husband scraped off the stucco ceilings on our first floor and sanded it down too! It created sooo much dust! The whole house was covered in white dust! I mean the whole house! Inside cupboards and closets and bedrooms EVERYWHERE!

Reno's are still not done so I have all these holes in my ceilings waiting for the pot-lights to be installed next weekend. So we'll be living in chaos for a week.

Even though all this mess was going on I managed to still have fun :)
Some of us girls got together Saturday night for dinner. We went down to a Lakeshore restaurant. We chatted and ate delicious food! I had a huge plate of pasta and parmigiana chicken! It's always so nice to catch up with the girls.... over food ahahh!
I also fit in some time to see my sweet nieces Saturday afternoon.
Baby M is sooo strong! She's 5 months today and she rolls over and over it's so cute!
And today was my bff's baby shower!!! She is due in a month!

It was so fun, the shower was beautiful and I even won a gift! How cool is this tea mug!!! I love mugs!!!

I'm exhausted! We tried cleaning as much as we could but everything is still dusty :(

I think I may push the other reno's out. I'm a little traumatized by the mess Ha!

No Pop! No Fries!

Tonight was gym night! We walk to and from the gym which is a great 'warm' up before and after working out, but let me tell you again, it's cooold here! Burrrrrrr.

I'm a little amazed that I'm ending week two and I've had noooo pop! and nooooo fast food! I've gone out for dinner last weekend and once this week but no "fast food"! I feel great about that! Seems weird to write that because really I should not have been eating fast food every week... but I was! Busy schedules will do that to ya! So I'm really sticking to my schedules and so far it's working great! Although I wish my energy was a little bit higher. Doc is sending me for blood work so hopefully my B12 isn't low again.
I've been making more of Quinoa and just love it! Now I just need to find more recipes to make it different ways. Know any?

I'm sooo glad the weekend is almost here, although I have a lot going on this weekend. We are doing some reno's in the house and I'm not looking forward to a mess! I'll have some before and after pics next week.

Then Sunday it's my BFF's Baby Shower!! Can't wait to see all the great gifts her little man will receive! She is due in a month!!!

Tuesday Basement Workout!

Tuesdays are my basement workouts. So as soon as I got home I put dinner in the oven and went to workout!

Yesterday was such a busy day at work. My food choices started off great, but I was so busy in the afternoon I had no time to eat my snacks and I left work an hour later too! So my husband met me near by after work for dinner. We went for sushi but decided to order a dinner dish instead, I choose the Salmon (I'm sure it's still way above the calories than I wanted).... I really don't want to be eating out during the week, so I was a little upset that it was MONDAY and I already ate out! Glad today was a better day :)

I bought this new peanut butter and just love it!!

Since I've been having salads for lunch, my breakfasts are either Kashi Cereal and Coffee or 1 piece of 12 grain toast with peanut butter sprinkled with chia seeds and coffee. Since I bought this peanut butter, I'm choosing this breakfast a lot more haha!

The next couple weeks my schedule will get tighter, so I'm trying to be pro-active and picking out the days when I can fit my workouts in. So far Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday nights fit well. As for Hot Yoga, I really wanted to go every week,(I found a time slot that is 60mins :)) but its so hard to fit it in. It may be a every other week thing, I hope!

Down 2.5 lbs!

Last week went great great! I followed my goals with counting my calories, eating at home during the week and exercising, so yesterday mornings weigh in, I was down 2.5lbs!

I'm being much more attentive with eating out as well (because we love going out for dinner on the weekends!) So Friday night my husband wanted to go for a lobster dinner. I skipped the rice that is came with and I also skipped dipping the lobster in the butter. So I saved some calories there! And still enjoyed this yummy lobster!

Yesterday morning we woke up to all this snow! So what a perfect day to try HOT YOGA! HA! Let me just say WOW! It was HOT!
It felt great! Although the truth is, it was a little intimidating with all the VERY fit women doing all the poses correctly and there I was full figured falling around and not being able to do the full 1.5 hours HA! I wore a tank top and yoga capri's I was soaked with sweat right through my bra! I'm not good with hydrating myself so of course I didnt drink enough water as I should have and that caused my day to be a little off with a massive headache. I also had killer lower back pain (oh boy!)

I will definitely be going again. I need to look at their schedule to find a shorter class, 1.5 hours was wayyy to much for this beginner!
This week we are planning our trip to San Francisco for February! I'm really excited! My husband and I have a tradition of going to buy a travel book of where we are going when we plan trips, so we did that yesterday. I know some of my followers live there or have visited so any suggestions you have just let me know! :)

Working on those goals!



The best thing to do after setting goals is to start working towards them right away!

So in the process of begging my sister to join yoga with me (she won't!) we decided that we will join the gym instead!


It was great! We use to work out here all the time when I lived in the area. I use to live just down the street from my mom, and my sister and I would meet up a couple times a week to workout or do fitness classes together. All the good memories flooded back and brought me back to some of my happiest times when I lived in the city. Good thing my mom still lives in that area so I still feel part of that community. (Although I do love where I live now, A huge piece of me is with our first home, I have sooo many amazing memories from the 4 years we lived there so I love thinking about it :)
It's snowing like crazy out there! And we decided to walk to the gym it's not that far... but it was a blizzard! ahaha!

Annnnnd I decided to try Hot Yoga! My cousin and I will be going this weekend... EEK I'm nervous about that! Hot Yoga??!!!! Wish me luck!

Food : I'm doing really well with making Breakfast, lunch and dinner! And controlling my calories too. I love New Year Goals! I need to drop some weight already! The scale # is a little scary! I'm not going to lie.

But the key is to set yourself up for success! (says Anthony Robbins!) So I'm doing just that! Buying healthy foods in order to make healthy meals for BF, Lunch and Dinner! Planning my weekly schedule ahead of time with alarms on my phone that remind me just in case! and It works! Set up exercise dates with family/friends that way you commit to it! These are my New Year strategies.

Another goal I'm attacking, is the traveling. We decided on our first trip! Husband and I can't take a week off work until the end of March so we decided to take 2 days off and do a 4 day trip to San Francisco! So I'm in the process of planning that!
