Third week of school!

Third week of school and daycare prep for baby M! 

I can't get enough of these ghost busters shirts! Ha! I bought a few more matching outfits for these kiddos. I'll milk it for as long as I can!

Little K is not a picky eater when it comes to his lunches. So making lunch has been pretty easy.  He does ask for bocconcini daily and he's loving hummus. He likes his apples whole and he's loving those lunch box chocolate granola bars and of course he likes carrots over those pretzels. Yummy! Twice a week he will have the school hot lunch which is pasta and pizza and a carton of milk daily. He's not a huge milk drinker but this year he said he wanted the chocolate milk. So let's see!

Now it's time for baby M to transition to daycare :( 

This kiddo is on the fast track. He already seems older than 1! He watches and learns so fast from big bro! 

We got all his items ready... Diapers, blankets, toys, utensils, clothes and snacks! He was ready for his first day! Only 2.5 hours today. And of course he was just fine. He is surrounded by little girls and he had so much fun. He ate a little lunch and snacks while there too. Of course baby M! You loveeee to eat!

Next week it's back to work for me and a new schedule for all of us! 

It's been kookoo for cocoa puffs around here

Haha I always say that! I Really do feel like I'm kookoo these days.

My sweet little guy is still sick ;( his ear infection isn't gone yet, and after the first round of antibiotics I thought he would be better, then a week went by and he seemed to be getting worse!

He had a fever all day yesterday and I decided to work from home today and bring him to the doctor. His ear infection is back or never left and he is now on his second round of antibiotics.

I'll work from home tomorrow too. I want him back to his fun little self again!!!

Trying to find work life balance is so hard with a little one. Especially these days when they are sick and need you.
It's sooo hard! I can't send him to daycare like this. He needs all day cuddles!!!

First day back after maternity leave!

Today was my first day back at work. Maternity leave is officially over ;(

To make our mornings run smooth I made sure to prepare everything the night before. It all worked out. I got ready in the morning while baby played in his crib (crying on and off to get out) luckily I was ready fast! We had breakfast together then I dropped him off at daycare and headed to work.

I logged on many times throughout the day to watch Kristian play. Even had to hold back tears all day ;( he was at daycare 9.5 hours today. I missed him!!

When I picked him up he was sooo happy to see me he gave me lots of kisses! Love my little boy!

Little Kristian is getting a new little cousin! My sister is having a baby and just found out she's having a girl!!! So I'll have 3 nieces!!! We are soo happy

Long weekend cuteness

Tomorrow is my first day back to work! Wish me luck!! I'm feeling a little nervous eek!

We have the day off today so we are enjoying our long weekend. Baby K was up so often last night ;( I am exhausted and moving in slow motion ha! He too is exhausted because he has now been napping for over 2 1/2 hours!

DH and I have been doing some fall cleaning while baby sleeps. Hopefully he wakes up soon so we can head out this afternoon!

We had a fun weekend, did a little shopping and even renewed our car lease! We also spent some time with family, baby K loves his cousins.

My little niece and him play so well together it's just too cute!!! How cute are they!!

1 week today!

1 week today it's baby K's first birthday!!!!!! Where did the time go!!!!

1 week today he also starts his first day of daycare for orientation!

We have a busy week ahead preparing both these things. Not to mention my back to work stuff, emailing work and buying a whole new work wardrobe.

Monday's always start off so busy huh.

Our weekend was great and went by too quick as usual. Saturday night DH took me out on a date. We haven't gone out alone in so long! We always bring little Kris along. So it was nice to go out and enjoy a nice dinner together... Which we mostly talked about Kris anyway! Ha!
DH had a delicious steak and lobster dinner, I had steak with mushroom sauce and it was sooo good! With a little too much wine haha!

When we got home Kristian was sleeping. But my voice woke him up and I was able to snuggle him back to sleep ;)

It was nice to dress up and have fun downtown.

Work and daycare after maternity leave

We are counting down these days! 2 weeks until daycare!!! I had the extra month home with my little one but the feelings are exactly the same as they were before!

Again, I know how lucky we are here in Canada to even get that 1 year maternity leave! And I was lucky enough to be able to take some extra time on top of that. But why to I feel like its not enough! He won't be a baby forever! I guess I don't want to miss a thing!

When they talk about separation anxiety in babies, I think they should be talking about moms... Moms like me. Ha!

I love spending my days with my little guy. He is learning and growing soo fast!

He follows some simple commands these days and it's amazing to watch.

He will sip his water when I tell him to drink his water. He will tickle himself when I tell him to tickle tickle. He combs his hair. Points the remote to change the channel. He will feed you when you ask for some. He says BA while waving bye. These are just some of those adorable things he does. It's cute!!!

Baby K will love daycare too, that I know. He loves being around people and he is so social. The extra month I had off with him got him daytime weaned so in that department we are good too.

I know we will adjust. Many of you have gone through the same thing. Many have given me some tips and remind me that I will get a new routine going that will work. The anxiety of the approaching change is just overwhelming!

And if you haven't noticed from reading my blog, I have some issues when dealing with change. Which is now even harder.

With a child my decisions don't just involve me! When I think about work I think about when to start my work day and finish making it the best scenario for my baby. I don't want to work so far away from his daycare either! These things never mattered before but are now the kind of things that I think about!

Sigh, I may have many bloggy meltdowns be prepared friends haha ;)

Baby is not starting daycare... Yet!

We were getting close! Kristian was to start daycare in 3 weeks! We both were not ready!!

Kristian still breastfeeds 3-4x a day and also in the evening and wakes up a couple times too.

We are trying to daytime wean which has been hard! I'm working at it everyday!

He knows what he wants and if I trick him and put his pacifier in his mouth he will grab it and throw it across the room and tug at me to nurse! How could I refuse that!

So slowly we are working on it, more by distraction, playing longer, going out longer. Things like that.

And I'm not ready either! I love being home with my sweet little boy. Any extra time in a life time of work ahead is better than nothing!

So that said, I requested an extra month off from work. They took a while to respond back and I thought they would decline it. But It's approved! So I have an extra month home with my sweet baby!!! I'm so grateful for this.

3 more months!

Eek! It's 3 more months then it's back to work!! Baby K will be headed to daycare. We have so much to prepare for the next 3 months. Paperwork for daycare paperwork for work yuk!

Staying at home with the baby is just as hard some days as being a working mom. Both has it's pro's and con's. Although I would love to stay home with little K, I know the daycare I chose is a great fit for him. He will learn a lot and make lots of friends too. I am sure that I will be the one having a harder time getting use to it than him ha!

We are planning a family vacation before I go back. A much much needed vacation!
