RollerBlading workout!

This week I've been doing pretty good so far.
My lunches are mostly salads and I'm bringing plenty of fruit and veggies as snacks. Dinner is hard tho! With being so busy during the week and with the weather being soo nice (well ok it's been killer hot) But it's so hard to stay in and cook! Husband and I love being out in the summer. We want to always be out there trying new restaurants/patio's and cafe's. Summer is just so much fun!

BUT my scale is not looking good! I gained some weight over the last couple months and now this has me even farther away from my original weight loss goal.

I do however want to keep it a healthy and steady weight loss so I will break down my goals by 3 month increments. Goal #1- 10lbs in 3 months.

Yesterday was day 1 of my new activity to help with my weight loss. Rollerblading!

My Sister is really good on these things!
She was guiding me and giving me tips. I did really well for my first time in like 10 years! I didn't fall at all either!

Tonight I have a lot of emails and office stuff to catch up on but I'll try and squeeze in a workout tonight too!

Time to get back on track!

This weekend I was feeling a little under the weather, just down and not like myself. We went out for my brothers birthday last night... I had originally said no to the event, but I knew I needed to get myself out and glad I did, we had a great time :)

We went to Copacabana Brazilian Steak House. I ate enough meat to last me a month! Hah!

The last couple of weeks have really been up and down. Last week we ended up eating out a lot! I think I tried every culture of food possible in a week. Chinese/Japanese/Italian/Brazilian/Middle eastern/Korean/Thai Yikes!
And my scale shows it!
My BMI is currently at OVERWEIGHT! At 27.5
  • Normal weight = 18.5–24.9
  • Overweight = 25–29.9
  • Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
My new goal is to get at least at the higher bmi of the Normal weight 24.9 which means I need to drop 15lbs!

So this week I'm getting back on track!
Back to working out and eating healthy!

New Goals:
*1500 Calories/day
* Tracking calories on Iphone "my fitness pal app"
*Drink lots of water everyday! A MUST!
* 3 bite rule on sweets
* Tuesday RollerBlading
* Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday basement work out: Ab Lounge, Gazelle and workout DVD's
* No fast food! (no burgers, no fries, no pop!)
*More fruits and Veggies as daily snacks.

Hope you all had a good weekend. Happy July 4 to my American friends! :)

On a side note, We have been letting Zoe out on a leash in the backyard...

Even Zoe is pooped too!

With only 5 hours of sleep, I woke up, cleaned up then we went for a much needed Breakfast at Cora's :)

I just realized that tomorrow is March 1st and I still have 8lbs to lose by April 1st. I have been eating way to much, and altho I am working out, I am just maintaining and not dropping any weight!

Neeed to be more strict!.... 2mrw ;)

2lbs down!

Today I am home - I'm not feeling too good so took the day off. Not as fun ha!

I did my weigh in today and I lost 2lbs! Whoohoo I have been closely watching my cals and I also only had a salad for dinner last night because I was already feeling under the weather. ( I think that helped)

So far my Breakfast and Lunches have been going really well for me.

Breakfast 235 Calories:
Spelt Flax Organic Bread 100 Cal
1/2 tablespoon peanut butter 45 cal
1 tablespoon of jam 30 cal

I started making my own coffee, adding 1 tbs of raw sugar 20 cals and 2 tbs of half and half cream 40 cals. (saving 55 cals from coffee shop coffee)

Lunch 200 Calories:

1 cup of plain brown rice. 170 Cals.
(I boiled lots of brown rice on Sunday to have for the whole week)

I also bought a bunch of packaged seasoned veggies. The one below is 50 cals for 1 cup. You can use 1 package for 2 lunches.

Put 1 cup of brown rice in a container top with 1/2 a package of the above veggies. You can add more seasoning like Tabasco or even lemon on the rice and add as many different veggies too if you want. The below pic I had added cilantro, tomato and garlic to my packaged veggies.

Snacks:
2 tbs of walnuts 82 Cals

2 Clementines 80 cals

9 baby carrots 35 cals

Also, going back to Breakfast. Since we started making our own coffee we bought cute cups and lids at a wholesale place and estimated about $12/month if we make our own coffee, compared to $65 sometimes more in buying coffee monthly.

Counting cals and money, so far so good!

Cookies and weight loss???

This morning I did my weigh in and to my surprise... I lost 2 lbs! It's a surprise because I ate many sweets this weekend, from cookies to lattes to apple danishes mmm. But, I did not have any thing really nutritious as food this weekend and did not eat any real meals because the sweets pretty much kept me full ahah! And I lost 2lbs! there are no complaints here aha!

My goals for the week will be very short and simple, heck, it's the holidays which means these next two weeks are not really going to be watched. The new year will bring the bigger and better more serious goals. :)

.... I just pasted my goals and realized that I do not think I will follow them... Cooking at home, not sure, as I need to be running around getting ready for Christmas... Working out in the basement...mmm again I'll be running around.

... ok only goal this week it to be aware of the foods I'm eating and trying not to over eat!

Happy Holidays!

weight loss ideas - new weekly menu

Thankfully my Monday weigh in was back at my regular weight minus the 2 lbs I was up on Friday. This weekend I carefully watched what I ate (except for at the Movies last night with popcorn and gummybears! I just can not hold out at the movie theater!)

I made a delicious omelet the other day, it was healthy and very filling. I think I will make omelette's more often!

Over the weekend I got some weight loss ideas from a blogger friend suggestion as well from some girlfriends this weekend.

Some weight loss ideas they gave me are:

2 boiled eggs for BF - I'm going to try this, this week! Thanks blogger friend! :)

Another friend of mine lost lots of weight this summer on what she calls a soup diet!
She skips BF then eats soup for lunch and a light dinner. I am one that needs my BF so I am thinking up my own combo plan.

My new weekly menu, below:

2 boiled eggs with tea for BF
Veggie Soup or salad for lunch
light dinner, lean meat with small portion of carb
fruit as my snacks

wish me luck!

Have any weight loss ideas let me know, I may add it to my new weekly menu!

PS. Can I boil eggs all in one day and keep them refrigerated for a week?

Hump day update (but on Thursday :)

This morning I decided to have just a fruit salad (strawberries/banana and a plum) with water. I'm trying to cut down on the coffee. That way I cut down on the sugar and cream I put in them, not to mention the nervousness it gives me as well. I will have tea throughout my day just not with fruit, the hot and cold mixture doesn't sound right to me lol.
I also started eating on a smaller plate and only 1 serving, to control portions. So far it is working well.

As for my weekly goals I can say I'm doing just ok. BUT, I have a mini goal I need to accomplish by next week. I need to lose 5 lbs by the 19th! Husband and I are going with a different company for life insurance and the nurse is coming on the 19th to do blood work and weigh us. I need to make sure I get the preferred rate, last time I wasn't because of my height and weight :(. So I will hit it harder the next week in a half!!! This means very healthy eating to eliminate toxins too.

Hope I'm a good girl on the weekend!

Fresh start... but not this morning...

MMM Nutella, Nutella sandwiches (with white toast bread) are so yummy and totally associated with my childhood memories. I made the big mistake of buying it last week when we were waiting 3 days with no fridge and stove. I figured bread and nutella are hardy breakfasts.haha!

However, now I'm addicted and pretty much finished half the jar in a week.

Last week must of been the worst of my eating of all time! I can not even express the amount of donuts and french fries I consumed in a week!

BUT, I need to get back on track. Should I just throw away the half eatn jar? Or just stash it way back in the cupboard. Hmm I know if I leave it in the open I will continue eating it everyday!

My husband finished painting the spare bedrooms and I decided to put my gazelle and mini trampoline in one of the rooms for easy access to my workout equip.

New goals for the week start today! (similar to all my goals) but really I have no more excuses now!

1. No donuts or french fries!!!!!!
2. Eat as many home cooked meals in a week at least 5 days of the 7
3. Limit carb intake at dinners
4. 1/2 hour on the gazelle
5. 5 mins a day on the trampoline
6. drink plenty of water/tea
7. Supplements; Take fish oil pills with lunch, soy lecithin twice a day and 5htp at night.

I also heard that bathing in Epsom salts are really good for water retention. Do you know if that is true? I'll look that up now too.

Hump Day Update!

I found a site that I was able to put my current weight and desired weight and get these cute images. So I put what I originally started at and a goal weight of 128 (Not even close). Like I mentioned before I am more bottom heavy, I don't think the pics really look like my body- add more thickness to the legs for the top one and there its me lol ahhaa.

Last night my sister and I went for a 2 hour walk and took 12500 steps! I was shocked! :) And boy was I exhausted when I got home!

My weight has not changed for a while now, I'm guessing I should make more changes than what I have been doing but I will reevaluate Monday.

Job hunt has begun, which is really hard. I've had many different positions and have a college diploma in Business and a software testing certificate so I've been in the office industry and in the IT world. I'm a little confused on what to go towards now since being laid off... I will misssss being home!! :( too many changes to overcome these days. All I can repeat in my head is that it only means I'm growing towards my dreams ;)

What career path do you have? Do you enjoy what you do? Have you changed career paths lately?

Food Plan for the week

Last week was good and bad all mixed together :) I did ok reaching some high numbers on the pedometer this weekend. 13500 Sunday alone :) Proud of that. Not so proud of the Big mac and fries I had on Sunday (bad bad!). I'm the classic emotional eater. When stressed, Big mac always makes me feel better, Ha! that is so bad isn't it!

The move is in 2 weeks and the house is upside down! I'm also trying to consume all frozen foods since our appliances don't come till the next day after the move, I really don't want to waste food especially on our super tight budget.

On that note, I'm looking for work these days as well. Our online company is doing well but I think our move was more expensive than we thought. So my job hunt has become more serious!! Boo :( Is it bad that I actually enjoy being home? I love the time for myself I get so much done working on the online business and to tell you the truth we save money too ;) Buuut We need all the extra cash we can get at least until we settle in and get our numbers straight. I'm pretty good at time management so I am sure that even with Full time work I can get all my extra activities fit in there as well. ;)

On a better note. My asthma is improving! With the meds I take daily, I haven't had coughing or wheezing for at least 5 days straight! I'm super happy about this! I'm going to try and run a couple laps this week and see if I have improvement in my breathing :)

Grocery shopping yesterday was a success, I bought lots of meals to be cooked at home :) So I will plan my meals out so that way we can stay AWAY from Fast Food! Bought a new wing sauce for wings :) Love eating weeks cause I can eat them with just a salad as a side. I'm trying to minus the carbs as much as we can.

Here are my new goals for the week. (Well same as last weeks, I didn't add anything from last weeks goals, I think I need to work hard on these 5 goals and FOCUS!)

1. Continue cooking at home (Plan meals)
2. Limit or fully cut out fast food, no fries!
3. No coffee shop foods, only coffee
4. Workout 3-5 times a week (1hour workouts) and/or 10000 steps on the pedometer.
5. No eating after 7pm.

Hump day update - gorgeous day!

A nice sunny day love these days! Still a little cool but at least the Sun is out. Monday was so cold that the heat in the house went on! Hopefully our summer comes out soon! Actually I take that back, soon but I also need to get bikini ready which I am not!

I Did my weigh in today and I am exactly the same! I need to boost this up! I've been reading other blogs and I read that Acai pills or Hoodia are really good to aid in weight loss. When I was younger I was obsessed with weight loss pills, I would take anything that sounded promising. I even bought these "Brazilian Diet pills" From a customer from a job I was at for something like 300 dollars for a month in a half! I was crazy! They did work tho. My friend and I still laugh about it because we lost a lot of weight but once off them we both gained double the weight back!!!!!

So I'm verrrry sceptical these days about taking anything different. However, I am feeling a little desperate these days.

I added lunges to my daily routine. I'm more bottom heavy and my thighs are my main issue! My thighs prevent me from finding good fitting pants, and Jeans, ha! forget it! I own only 1 pair and not a fan of how I look in them..I hate it! Tights and long tops have become my daily wear.

I've been doing well with my pedometer, I love how I'm constantly aware of how many steps I do. I haven't hit the park yet so my yesterday and monday I only got up to 7500 and 5500 steps, but today I will reach my 10000 or above when I hit the trails!

Packing the house for the move is almost done ;) I have some empty rooms now. I have mixed feelings of happiness and sadness all mixed together lol whaa to that!

Feel'n gloomy on this gloomy Monday

I wish I got more ZZZZZZ's last night. I was awake all night coughing like crazy. I'm pretty sure that the Asthma meds made me sick, I have a horrible sore throat and coughing soo much. I slept on the living room couch yesterday cause I felt bad waking up the husband coughing all night when he had work this morn. I can tell you I feel horrible today, I went out for lunch and grabbed a latte and right now I'm still dosing off as I'm writing. Not a good start of the week! whaa!

I didn't do a weigh in today, maybe I will be brave on my Wednesday update. I've been doing good and bad. My pedometer is really a great help and I get excited to increase the steps cause it's so fun! Ok so last weeks goals are below, let's see how I did...

1. Continue cooking at home ( I did really well all week, however we did eat out a couple times on the weekend ;( Below was one of the meals I made. Haddock kabob with spinach salad, rice and a samosa YUM!

2. Limit or fully cut out fast food, no fries! (eee had fries once this week ;(
3. No coffee shop foods, only coffee ( Had timbits, not thaaaat bad lol)
4. Workout 3-5 times a week (1hour workouts) ( 4 times)
5. 1 minute push ups everyday (only 3 times)
6. 1 minute jumping on trampoline (i'll move my trampoline to the first floor, my husband said he dosnt want me breaking the house before our move hahahah! Nice huh. ( Did not get a chance to jump around lol)
7. Try and relax and not let stress get to me, read every night before bed to relax my mind (Tried but the move is really stressing us both out and we are fighting a lot!)

For this week I'm going to make similar goals and minusing out some previous ones.

1. Continue cooking at home
2. Limit or fully cut out fast food, no fries!
3. No coffee shop foods, only coffee
4. Workout 3-5 times a week (1hour workouts) and/or 10000 steps on the pedometer.
5. No eating after 7pm. ( I did this a couple times last week and weight was down the next morning, sounds good to me!)

Keeping it short and simple this week ;)

Not so bad, but not good enough!

I had to post the pic of the yummy desserts at my mom's bbq this weekend. I must say that I was very proud of myself I used my 3 bite rule, and ate much less than half of that brownie, and I also waited till everyone picked the desserts they wanted so there wasn't any left for seconds! Good idea huh ;)

My goal last week was to really try and combine healthy eating and exercise and control evening binges. So far I've been good some days and not so good other days.

This weeks goals;

1.Workout 1 hour 5 days a week (I am going to try my very best to get out to the park mon-thurs and sunday)

2. I will also add 1 min of push ups (as on my fellow blogger WeightLossWeekly Blog)

3. No coffee shop treats at all this week! Only coffee allowed ;0

4. Cook at home all week. This I can do, the weekends I need to work harder on.

5. If fast food comes in the picture, choose healthier choice and no fries!

Since I have been working slowly on all these changes I am confident I can achieve these goals this week! ;) I think my Hump Day Wednesday post will be better this week .... fingers crossed!

Still afraid to do my weigh in, I really do not want to see it higher than last week. Should I just go for it and use it to motivate me, or just wait another week. So not a fan of that SCALE!
