Adding Extra Workouts This Month.

These pics have nothing to do with my weekly goals but I had to show my little niece. We went to my moms house tonight to visit.
Mom had surgery on her hand. She is doing well just in a little pain, but was happy that we were all over tonight.
Oh I just can't get enough of her cuteness!

So today after stepping on the scale and not seeing ANY change I decided that it's time to pick it up a notch. For the next 4 weeks I'll be doing 4 workouts a week.

This weeks Goals:
*Oatmeal for Breakfasts (It's so cold, I like a warm BF!)
*Only 1 coffee a day (going well!)
*1500 Calories/day
*Veggie filled Salad for lunch
*Drink lots of water everyday! I really need to increase my water intake!
* 3 bite rule on sweets or no sweets at all!
* 4 workouts a week.
* Weigh myself weekly.

I read in a magazine something that I always enforce with myself... Snacking! Having little snacks throughout the day so you don't over indulge at meals. I find this very important for my drive home. I usually have a banana on my way home so while I cook dinner I'm not falling over! Ha!

Time to finally lose these nagging 10lbs!

Monday goals and Veggie Soup!

Lots of GREEN! Over the weekend I decided to make a soup so I can have it for lunch everyday this week. I wanted to make it yesterday but we were with family until the late evening and I was pooped! So I made it tonight!

First I popped dinner in the oven... Pork chops with beans.
While that was cooking, I got my soup going. I'm excited for my lunches!

Last week I wrote these goals so lets see how I did...

*Create a new vision board for 1 year goals. (DONE! I have it in my bedroom and it's a constant reminder of my dreams and bigger plans!)
* print out quotes that help me stay on track during stressful days. (getting to this)
* Make a routine that works, some evenings for working on the side biz and some evenings for working out! (Schedule in the making!)
*Weigh myself weekly to keep my weight on track!(doing that, yikes! the number is not what I was hoping for ahah!)
*Cook at home 4 times a week. (Trying so hard with our busy schedules!)
*Always pack a lunch! (Always!!!)
*Always carry snacks in my purse for days that schedules get thrown off (I'm not pleasant to be around when hungry and this adds much more stress in my life lol) (ahahh I do this)
* Set automatic calendar alarms to myself with what I need to do on a particular day. (yup! I'm doing this, my iphone alarm is set at 6pm daily what I should do for the evening!)
* Read a positive book every night when going to bed, to keep me in a positive state (Love doing this, puts me in a happy positive state before I go to bed :)

So I'm doing well so far. Keeping yourself reminded of your goals is so important. That's why having a vision board with pictures of your goals and even a daily alarm that reminds you helps so much to keep you on track!

Ahhhh I relaxed! I'm enjoying my tea while blogging and then working on my side biz. I had a great Monday which I haven't had in a long time :) I'm grateful for that!

New Goals and New Vision Board

I'm home today. Yesterday I had a really stressful day at work. I couldn't sleep all night just worrying and feeling anxiety. I woke up tired and with a big headache! Taking the day off will only help a bit since all my work will still be there tomorrow. But I needed some time to myself. Some time to reorganize my goals, Life goals and Health goals.

Goals are soo important. I also love making vision boards, so I print out pics all that I want to achieve and post them up in my closet and in my office. :) I'll show you my new one when I complete it! :)

Goals Goals Goals!

The past couple weekends have been about family get togethers and lots of food! So with all fun I totally have not been tracking what I'm eating.
Tonight I made a yummy chicken stirfry and I have left overs for lunch too :)

My workouts have been on and off. So I really need to get back on track!
Work has been stressful and I've been coming home exhausted. Which has me slacking in all my goals. I need to get out of this rut!

This weeks Goals:
*Oatmeal for Breakfasts (It's so cold, I like a warm BF!)
*Only 1 coffee a day (going well!)
*1500 Calories/day (need to get back on track!)
* Tracking calories on Iphone "my fitness pal app"
*Drink lots of water everyday!
* 3 bite rule on sweets
* 3 workouts this week.
* Weigh myself weekly.
* 3 days a week working on my home goals (side biz/life/hobbies etc)

Ate too much! and shopped a lot!

Tonight my sister and I went to the mall. A much needed shopping night to de-stress! I bought a couple fall shirts, a vest, a floral belt and new yoga pants for my workouts! (the workouts I need to increase on) Work is totally draining me! My weeks have been soo busy and flying by! This week I left work later than usual and that means I did not cook all week! Not once! Yesterday we went to a Indian/Chinese Hakka Restaurant and ordered way too much food for 2 people hA!
I do not want to get on that scale! My rings are already feeling snug! I can't believe how stress really does a number on our bodies and lifestyle. Stress sucks!

The good thing is that I have been bringing my lunches and having fruits and veggies for snacks.

So this weekend I must must get myself back on track!!

The salmon took forever!

Tonight for dinner I made baked Salmon. I bought a new wine and herb seasoning. The package said 10 mins but the salmon I bought was pretty thick, so I thought ok, 20 mins... 30 mins? almost 40 mins! really! I never baked salmon before I've only made it on the grill so was not expecting it to take so long. Well the husband loved it. I on the other hand wasn't a fan of the seasoning, but I did it plenty of the garlic broccoli!

Tonight is workout night (workout while watching DWTS), but after waiting so long for dinner I just feel pooped and rather sit on the couch and NOT MOVE!! It's the Monday blues! BUT I think after writing this I may go hop on my Gazelle and get moving!

My search for fall stuff continues. I think I must of thrown it all out! I can't find it anywhere! So for now my outdoors only has pumpkins. :)

Oh Friday!

Ahhh Friday! You couldn't have come at a better time haha! What a week! Work has totally drained me this week. So glad I only have one more day of that torture till the weekend!

Tonight I went out makeup shopping. I bought a $20.00 lipstick, I don't usually wear lipstick, I mostly do glosses. But with actual lipstick I really like Matte ones. I guess I never noticed how many Matte lipsticks they don't sell! There was not much selection. I got a really nice Matte pink lipstick and really love it, worth the 20 bucks.

I've been slowly cutting down on the coffee. I did really well this week. Every morning I heat half a cup of milk and add it to half a cup of coffee. I had only 1 coffee a day this week and only twice this week I had a afternoon tea. So I'm getting there :)

Sooo the weekend is almost here! I'm excited for the weekend. Nothing specific planned so far but spending time with the husband going out and having fun will be on the list! My goal this weekend is to choose the healthier choices when eating out. I tend to forget this when I'm out having a good time.

Monday Monday!

This was my dessert yesterday ahhah I love the smidgen of tiramisu on the side ahhah!

It's MONDAY! And after a weekend of FFF (Family, Friends and Food!) I'm pooped!


I just wish I had the time to sleep as much as my baby niece ahhah!
She is just sooo adorable, I can't get enough of her!


But it's Monday and I'm tired!!!! I'm so happy my husband brought home dinner tonight too because I'm on the couch and not moving until bedtime!

I was too tired to grocery shop tonight, so I'll get on that tomorrow...

A really good Monday!

Today I did great with planning my meals!

I'm still sticking with my usual breakfasts of either a smoothie or weight control oatmeal.

My lunch today was a delicious salad with cucumbers and a hard boiled egg.

My husband started a new job today, we use to carpool everyday but that has come to an end... Not too happy about driving my own butt to work...I actually have to be awake instead of half asleep being driven. But it's pretty good since we won't be together after work which mean less chance of us going out for dinner instead of making a home cooked meal.

So tonight I got home first and prepared dinner!

I've been working out 3 times a week and so far I'm sticking to it!

I'm also really really trying to cut the caffeine. I'm not sure when it happened but I'm totally an addict! And every time I tell myself only one, I fight with myself to not drink another!

In Quebec City I ordered a latte in a bowl... yes BOWL!!

I know there is a lot of controversy about Caffeine and pregnancy, but I've been reading about links to Miscarriages and Caffeine intake before conception. Sooooo that scares me!!! (Not pregnant, just thinking future :)

Overall, I know it's all about balance! Eating healthy, working out and everything in moderation!

My Brother in-law is just the person to help with this! He just started blogging. He has been a personal trainer for about 3 years. (I know! He will be upset when he see's how many times I write about fast food! haha!Sorry J) He will have health and fitness tips for us all so be sure to check it out! /www.jam4fitness.blogspot.com/

Weekend of Fun and Shopping

Last night we went out for a friends birthday. My sister and little cousin came out too. We went to The Drake Hotel on Queen Street (in Toronto) And boy was it a fun night! I honestly can't remember when I had that much fun!! Partying with my sister and 19 year old cousin was exactly what I needed this weekend. The 3 of us had such a blast!!!

This weekend I also started my Fall shopping. I found some great deals on these boots! Can't wait to put together some outfits for the cooler weather.
Running around all weekend meant eating out all weekend too! I did try and choose healthier choices but still eating fast food is never a good choice.

So tonight I made sure to cook at home. I made baked spicy chicken with wedges and brussel sprouts!
Last weeks goal of working out 3 times a week will be achieved today ahah! Cause I'm off to go workout for an hour while I watch the VMA awards!

Day 2 of on track!

Today I did really well with following my calorie intake and exercising. I went rollerblading tonight and boy was it a humid evening! But by the lake there was a little breeze... a little haha!

BF: I had Cinnamon Oatmeal and 1 coffee
Lunch: Salad with chickpeas, cucumbers and 1 egg.
Snack: 4 Strawberries and a handful of almonds
Snack 2: (HA!) 2 timbits and a Tea. (ok I didn't need those timbits but a girl offered at work and I couldn't resist! It's OK I kept with my calorie intake!
Dinner: Grilled chicken Salad. YUM!
After work out snack: half a sandwich with turkey and spinach.

Total calories today: 1400!

And today my nuplus order came in! Thanks Sunny!
I will add these packets to my smoothies! For a daily dose of nutrition! Read about it here!

And the hat I ordered for my niece came in too! She was sleeping so I didnt want to disturb her so I placed it just on top of her head, how cute!!!!


Tomorrow I'm going to the doctor for a full check up. I havent been since the MC so I hope I get good news and hopefully she gives me the OK to try again soon! :)

Monday and on track!

I bought some new items to add to my menu. One Bun multi grain bread which is 100 calories. Great because all I need is half of one to go with my lunch salads. (need my carbs :)

I also bought flavored weight control oatmeal and just tried it, it's yummy! (sorry for the french side of the pic, just noticed that!
I also read that protein is a must when eating salads. So far my salads consist of Romaine lettuce, cucumbers, chickpeas and now adding 1 egg, with balsamic vinegar. Yummy!

I also make sure to eat every 3 hours to keep my metabolism going but to also be sure I'm not starving, not good when starving.... starving will make it easy to eat anything in site! So I don't want to do that to me!

This weeks menu

Breakfast:
Smoothies or Oatmeal
1 Coffee

Lunch:
Salads (veggies and protein)
with half of a One Bun.

Snacks: Fruit/carrots/any 100 cal snacks.

Dinner:
Since I have been usually eating out for dinner, I need to be more aware of my choices and choose the healthier choice! Fingers crossed for a good week!

My goal calorie intake this week is 1500/day.
plus 2 workouts this week.

and so far Monday was perfect! :)

We are also planning a trip soon. However, I put in my passport renewal too late! So we are not sure if our trip will be in the USA or we might just travel within Canada. We'll make our decision by Wednesday.

Cottage weekend


Fun weekend at a cottage! We got a group of friends together to rent a cottage for the weekend. It was relaxing and fun!

The guys came up with this game on who could jump on the floating mattress. The picture were hilarious! Boy did we get our laughs!



After eating a lot of junk food this weekend I'm really looking forward to my smoothie breakfast! Emily over at Miss Scissorhands
won my last giveaway and gave her sister the prize as a gift! Sunny over at ThatExtra20pounds loved it! She has yummy smoothie recipes and got me into having smoothies everyday for Breakfast! Yum!

This week I'm going to work on my goals :) I'm actually glad summer is coming to an end, I really do need some extra time back! I'm working on some personal and business goals and summer is pretty distracting! So whenever I need to get back on track I write out my goals to remind me what I'm working towards.

But for now it's bedtime for me! I'm looking forward to a great week ahead, hope you all have a great Monday!

My Birthday ....

Today was my 29th birthday and my mom's 52nd birthday. When I was younger (haha) I felt that time would go so slow, even at 25, 30 seemed sooo far away... and now the years are just flying by! I am in a happy time in my life tho (minus my pms week aahah) I've accomplished many of my goals in my 20's and I have many new future ones to come too. I'm looking forward to all the great years ahead. Living, Loving laughing and even starting my own little family one day :) I'm excited and looking forward to growing and growing towards my dreams! (had to use it, it was too perfect heehee)

Tonight we went to my moms for dinner and cake. My mom bought me this money tree, whoohoo lets hope it works so maybe I could leave my stressful job! hmm I'd like that!

I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday, it's been a long week! Going out with the husband tomorrow night for a bday out on the town, can't wait!

Food Journal

It's true..... I've been totally overeating!

Went to the drive in yesterday night and had, pop, popcorn, hotdog and cotton candy! yikes!

So I neeeed to really get back on track! So I was thinking about what worked for me before... and I know that this blog and being very honest on my blog helped me in the past. The last couple months I've been thrown off track, but I'm slowly getting there. My exercising goals are going great as well as my smoothies for breakfast.... BUT My eating habits are up and down. Especially with the nice weather and going out ALLL the time!

So, I'm going to start a food journal again. I'm going to be very honest with it (which will make me think twice! with my food choices ahah!)

When I blog I'll have a section at the end of foods I ate that day, like below. And I'll also tweet my meals as well. My blog has helped me a lot in the past so I know this will work! It's time to DROP these 10-15lbs!

Today's meals.
Tall Skinny Vanilla Latte
2 custard tarts
Rice, veggies with chicken and steak kabobs
Asparagus and steak
Mcdonalds wildberry smoothie.

Oh boy so busy!

I've been sooo busy! like I already mentioned before ahah! But geez I'm non stop! Although I I'm not complaining at all...I really don't mind having the busy schedule. I'm doing all things that I love to do after work...However my Iphone issue last week erased my calendar! It totally messed up my schedule. I actually forgot some things to do yesterday and today.

With my busy schedule I'm trying really hard to follow my goals that I'm setting. So far I'm not doing too bad! Although I'm counting cals I still have been eating out once and while because we just have not been home.

The good news! I lost 3lbs! Not much and still in the 150's but I feel good and I feel healthy so I'm happy! Now just to fit back into my clothes I'll be more happy! (It's amazing how much my body changed in those 2 months) I have 4lbs more to get to pre-preg weight then 10lbs more to get to my goal weight a total of 14lbs to go!

Tomorrow I have a follow up doctors appointment, I have no concerns, so it should be quick! (hopefully she doesn't get upset with my weight gain)

Smoothies and weekend


I bought some more ingredients for my daily breakfast smoothies!

Today I had a raspberry banana smoothie. It was yummy!

Tomorrow I'm going to try a Berry Kale smoothie.
-1 banana
-kale (frozen)
-strawberries (frozen)
-blueberries (frozen)
-water

I didn't put in the measurements because I will just eye it, I like more strawberries than blueberries so I'll work that out haha!

On the weekend we had my sister inlaws baby shower on her parents side. My mom is throwing her a shower as well next week which my sister and I are helping out with, so my week will be busy!

And look who guessed the right number of jelly beans! whoop! But I gave them away. No way I'm going to eat all of those (cause I would, and that's shameful!) HA!

Italian classes are over for now so I have my Monday nights back! Although my schedule this week is jammed with after work duties!

I need to find time for my workouts! I've been slacking in this department :(

Starbucks Smoothie Cup

Finally bought a Starbucks smoothie reusable cup! Now drinking my smoothies on the way to work will be much more convenient!

Months ago I was making smoothies, and not sure why I stopped, but I'm excited that I'm back on it! I usually make my smoothies like this (click here) But I also saw this one on a bloggy friends Facebook, and I cant wait to try it!

PB and BB smoothie recipe, yum! milk, 1 scoop of oatmeal, 1 tsp peanut butter, handful fresh blueberries, 1/2 frozen banana, ice.

I'm also trying to keep healthy snacks at hand. Like these almonds and pumpkin seeds.

Tomorrow is Friday and I have a very busy weekend ahead!

New Diet Plans

Tonight I went rollerblading and boy was it hot! It was humid and sticky but I had an amazing workout!

My scale is out of commission right now. I guess it's a good thing since I have been obsessed with that increased number I saw last week! It needs new batteries so I'll need to get them soon, I neeeed to see if it has budged at all! I'm 17 lbs away from my goal...

Over at http://www.thatextra20pounds.blogspot.com/ Sunny is doing a 7 day smoothie and salad detox. So I decided to jump on this too!.

Everyday for breakfast I will switch my toast and coffee in for a smoothie! And Every lunch will be salad loaded with veggies. (I'll head to starbucks tomorrow to get me one of those reusable plastic cups with a straw for my smoothies!)

I want to keep my food intake well balanced and with no extreme dieting here. Smoothies are loaded with vitamins and I've already been doing my salads for lunch so I will continue with this. I know my body and I'm one of those that needs 6 small meals a day. So 3 meals and 3 snacks throughout my day keeps this gal happy! haha!

Goals I follow:
*1500 Calories/day
* Tracking calories on Iphone "my fitness pal app"
*Drink lots of water everyday! A MUST!
* 3 bite rule on sweets
* Tuesday RollerBlading
* Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday basement work out: Ab Lounge, Gazelle and workout DVD's
* No fast food! (no burgers, no fries, no pop!)
*More fruits and Veggies as daily snacks.
* 100 calorie granola bars and yogurts.

RollerBlading workout!

This week I've been doing pretty good so far.
My lunches are mostly salads and I'm bringing plenty of fruit and veggies as snacks. Dinner is hard tho! With being so busy during the week and with the weather being soo nice (well ok it's been killer hot) But it's so hard to stay in and cook! Husband and I love being out in the summer. We want to always be out there trying new restaurants/patio's and cafe's. Summer is just so much fun!

BUT my scale is not looking good! I gained some weight over the last couple months and now this has me even farther away from my original weight loss goal.

I do however want to keep it a healthy and steady weight loss so I will break down my goals by 3 month increments. Goal #1- 10lbs in 3 months.


Yesterday was day 1 of my new activity to help with my weight loss. Rollerblading!


My Sister is really good on these things!
She was guiding me and giving me tips. I did really well for my first time in like 10 years! I didn't fall at all either!

Tonight I have a lot of emails and office stuff to catch up on but I'll try and squeeze in a workout tonight too!
